Not able to plant crops?

Hello! I am playing the newer demo version and for some reason can't plant crops in the crop bed? I go into my inventory, select the seed I want to plant, click "Plant" and go to the crop bed. I am on XBox controller and press A near the beds but nothing happens. I am unsure if this is a glitch that needs to be addressed but thought I would mention something. And if someone else is having the same issue and fixed it, I would appreciate the help :)

It sounds like you are referring to the herb garden plot. You can't plant regular crops in these, you can only plant herbs like googly garlic. To plant crops you use the shovel to dig grass and then you can plant normal crops in the ground.

i had the exacly same issue! Took me some time to realise! kinda confusing part from the game design.

Yeah! I know I can be a goober at times, but I couldn't find any instructions to differentiate how to plant herbs vs crops. I do hope that it could be implemented as part of the tutorial at some point, especially since there is an obvious difference between how to plant them.

What you have to do is prep a patch of dirt by digging with your shovel and then plant your crops on it then water them.
