Export the game to exe
First off thank you for releasing this. I've been a game developer wanna be for a long long time.

I have created a very quick and dirty level and I would like to create it as a stand alone exe so I can test in on my other computers to see what kind of performace I get. How do I export the game as a stand alone exe. I saw some references to a "launcher" but the discussions seem to be refering to an earlier version of the cryengine and no longer seem to apply (at least to this steam sub. version).

Thanks again for this. $10.00/month is a very generous price point.

GameSDK.exe located in the Bin folders is your game's EXE. It isn't currently possible to compile an entire CryEngine game down to a single EXE.

Can we export that GameSDK.exe alongside the necessary assets to have a tester play it, without that tester having to also be a subscriber to Cryengine?

Right, I understand it's not possible to export as a single exe. I should have clarified my question.

Let's assume I had a working game I wanted to sell right now. Surely I wouldn't had to ship the SDK to customers. That would be rather odd to say the least. So I suppose my question is "How do I 'package' (export or whatever you wish to call it) the game for release to potential customers?".

It's not that I'm even close to ready for that but I am curious about how to do it and I'd like to know that it's possible before I spend countless hours making a game. :-)

Well i'm assuming that that GameSDK with your own icon, .exe named as you wished, menu and entire creation could be packed into a installer, right, the old timey way?

There's probably no need to have the Tools do that for you, there's plenty of resource on how to do this for windows and what not.

That sounds like the foundations of exporting your project as standalone, for distribution.. lol this is great woh.

Even just to create a light-weight personal death match title (the university campus combat? our office war? lol) to distribute to your pals and have a LAN with could be excellent & not outside the scope of the clever beginner heh.

Now, how would someone, say, compile a game in CryEngine that only contains the assets in said game? What if someone doesn't use any of the weapons, vehicles, AI, etc.? Is there a way to lighten the load and cut out the unused assets? Or would someone need to get rid of the assets manually?

I remember once finding something like that in the Cryengine forums, but I can't find it. I doubt it would work on this version of Cryengine anyway.
