Game won’t launch after clicking the Play button
Dear Support Team,

I’m experiencing an issue where nothing happens when I click the Play button for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Complete Edition).

I’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps, but the game still won’t launch. I suspect the problem might be related to the Complete Edition or the DLCs. Typically, when I uncheck and re-check the DLC box, it triggers a re-download — this method worked for Odyssey and other games. However, when I try the same with Valhalla, nothing happens at all.

Could you please look into this or suggest a possible fix?

Hi kdm | Monstiez! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues launching AC Valhalla. Are you encountering any error codes or messages when you run the game? In the meantime, please try the following:
  • Ensure that the game, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect are all installed on the same SSD
  • Ensure you're running the game on a dedicated GPU[ubi.li] rather than an integrated GPU
  • Try any of the following technical troubleshooting steps[ubi.li] you haven't already tried

- I have tried every possible method.
- I don't think it's a hardware issue because I have the game on both Ubisoft and Steam. The version on Ubisoft runs without any problem after installation, but the version on Steam doesn't launch at all after I install it and click "Play"—nothing happens.

I'm also sorry to hear that the troubleshooting provided did not help to resolve the issue.

Could you go please take a look at the troubleshooting listed below, and go through any of the steps you may not have tried to see if that helps:

- Clear Ubisoft Connect cache[ubi.li]
- Clear Steam cache[ubi.li]
- Launch the game in Windows compatibility mode[ubi.li]if you are using Windows 11.
- Perform a SFC scan[ubi.li]
- Reinstall the support software[ubi.li]
- Try uninstalling then reinstalling the game

However, if the issue persists, could you submit a support ticket[support.ubi.com] and attach your system files dxdiag[support.ubi.com] and msinfo[support.ubi.com] and our Support team will investigate this further for you.
