If your game still crashes turn off VSync
Make sure your running the proper directx for the game
And try lowering the graphic setting's
--------
Note the game is known to crash during the monastery raids and Vagn's river raids, save before raiding, there's usually a yellow marker in the water before the raid , save before reaching that marker
Save your game often, there only 21 save boxes, so manage them, the top save is the newest save
I've been playing this on and off sense November 2020 with Ubisoft connect , other times I played rdr2 and days gone
In your Documents folder, right click on Assassins Creed Valhalla, and untick the Read-Only dialog box. Apply it to all subfolders. See if it helps.
I'm currently waiting for a fix from ubisoft but I'm not sure that it will ever come since some people have had these same issues since launch.
I have heard restarting your PC between crashes can reset the time between them (allow you to play longer before it starts crashing again) I haven't tried it myself yet because I have basically given up after trying everything I could find online dating back to launch.
I really hope they fix this as I love the game and would love to get back to playing it :(
I think a lot, if not most people, can play without any crashes at all. I wish I was one of them. However there is a surprising amount of people who have had crashes since day 1 and I personally have tried running my PC in "clean boot" mode as suggested on their troubleshooting page and I still crashed, this was with all non essential background tasks disabled.
There have been people who solved their crashing by turning off discord, among other programs but I've tried with all of those disabled as well and still I crashed.
I've tried verifying the files
Reinstalled three times (since the verify files is known to not work very well)
Lowered the graphics
Win 8 compatibility mode with full screen optimisations off
Gave Admin privileges
Clean boot mode
Disabled HAGS (Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling)
Limited the FPS to 60
Set monitor refresh rate to 60
Made an exception in my antivirus/firewall as well as disabled my antivirus/firewall
Set high priority in task manager
Changed from borderless to fullscreen n back again
Deleted the file cache and cache folders in documents/valhalla
Unchecked read only mode for documents/valhalla folder and subfolders
Updated windows (all optional updates as well)
Updated all drivers (this one almost goes without saying lol)
Along with quite a few things I have forgotten by now lol
My specs are - Win 11 - 3080ti - Ryzen 9 5950X - 32Gb RAM - SSD
It has really ruined my experience with the game which sucks because I always enjoy the little bit of time I get to actually play before I crash. Now it has turned into a troubleshooting nightmare where I am constantly on edge waiting for the next crash or hoping my new "fix" will have worked finally.
I plan to try it again if they patch it but I'm all out of ideas and I'm fairly sure it's not my system since no other games are giving me an issue and I have no corrupted drivers or anything like that.
I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with crashes at the moment
The first thing I would suggest is to attempt each step suggested here[support.ubi.com] besides those you have already attempted. These steps are known to resolve most of the common causes of crashing/freezing.
If after doing so you're still experiencing issues I'd then recommend opening a support case. You can reach us either through the support website[support.ubi.com] by opening a live chat session or alternatively through our social media accounts on Facebook[en-gb.facebook.com] and Twitter and they will be able to create a support case for you.
After you've opened the case if I can also ask you to attach two system reports to the case that will assist us in identifying any potential cause. The reports we need from you are:
MSInfo[support.ubisoft.com]
DxDiag[support.ubisoft.com]
Thanks.
