AC Valhalla Takes A long time to load
I have a M.2 NVME SSD, an above recommended system, but from the moment i click play on steam, the game takes 4-5 minutes to load into the game.

Hey Dr Argent.

This does sound a bit too long. AC Valhalla usually takes a while to load up, but 4-5 minutes does not sound great.
Has it always been like this for you or is it just now?
Did you play the game before? On a different PC maybe?

Thanks for the reply
But yeah I had it installed on a HDD first when I bought it, and that used to take around 7 minutes of launch time, but then I got a M.2 NVME SSD and I reinstalled the game on it again, but the thing is it still takes 4-5 minutes to launch and sometimes more than that.
When I launch the game on steam it first opens the ubisoft application, which takes like 2-3 minutes to open, then it shows the game's logo which gets stuck for another 2-3 minutes before opening the game, pressing continue to play the game takes very less time and the loading screens are very short, but it's the initial boot up time that takes just darn too long for a game on an SSD is supposed to take.a

Hi Dr Argent,

Taking 2-3 minutes to open Ubisoft Connect launcher is definitely too much.
It normally takes 10-15 seconds to open. Is you SSD drive perhaps almost full? This can cause significant dip in internal transfer rates.
Test your drive with some SSD benchmarking software and see what transfers you get.

There may be a setting in BIOS that affects how your drives perform.
We cannot, however, guide you through BIOS settings.

Check for all available updates for your motherboard on the manufacturer website.

BIOS settings are okay.. again to say this but every game opens in about 15 seconds or less... My ssds are far from full and my SSD speeds are on level with M.2 NVME SSD GEN3 speeds... I have checked it repeatedly.
If you're pessimistic about this i can show footage.

No need, Dr Argent. I believe you and was just surprised.
Our of curiosity, I'll check how the game behaves on my PC, but I haven't seen reports of 4-5 minutes for it to launch.

For now, I'm not sure when else to advise you. Do you have any security software other than built-in in Windows? Maybe it scans the game process and files while it launches?

I was using norton a year ago but right now its just windows defender. There's no startup applications except nvidia app though i have noticed the launch time drop to like 1 minutes every so often after i have installed nvidia app (the new beta). But still the "checking for addons" takes at least a minute and a half

Just so we are on the same page here, I've actually recorded a time.
This has improved by 1 minutes since i switched to Nvidia App like 2 days ago, and I had launched the game once prior to recording so the launch might be a bit faster but its still long, and if steam wasn't launched it would have been even longer.

Hey Dr Argent

Thank you for all your effort to show it.
So, 1m30sec to get to the main menu and just under 2m to load a save is pretty much what I get as well, maybe I get 10-15 sec less (but it's from UC directly, not via Steam).
I think that is how ACV behaves and such times are expected from this title.

I'm glad it's not the 4-5 minutes on an SSD as in the title.

I hope you can live with it now, after an improvement.
