Game no longer starts
I stopped playing this game for a few weeks and now re installed it on a new external SSD that I bought. Now the game doesn't start. I launch it on steam, see the splash screen and then the game just crashes. Trying to launch it through Ubisoft connect has the same effect. HOWEVER if I got to the game's install folder and run the ,exe directly from there the game does run but neither steam nor Ubisoft Connect detect it as running. Anyone else have the same issue or a solution for this?

yes here, yesterday i could play normally, over night turned the pc off, today wana start the game only see the splash screen, uninstalled the game, installed it again, still the same, no changes in the system, graka up to date, no changes since yesterday, no windows updates, everything remained the same since yesterday but game does not start.
start as admin doesn't help, disable fullscreen optimizations doesn't help

I looked it up on the Ubisoft forums, seems to be a known issue but there's no fix yet. Some people say that turning off your AV or making an excetion for the game's .exe fixes it but I don't want to risk it. Starting the game from the .exe in the game's folder works for the time being

i uninstalled the game again, uninstalled ubisoft connect and installed the game again, now it works

I already did ALL of those, it was litertally the first thing I tried as those are the most generic troubleshooting methods there is. This LITERALLY started happening ONLY after the most recent update of the game so it's quite obvious that it's the update that's at fault.

I am sorry that the game is not starting for you any longer!

Could you please make sure that the game is whitelisted in your Antivirus programs? This helped other players that could not launch the game after the last update.

Hi, I’ve tried verifying files, reinstalling, setting an exception in my AV. It just hangs on the splash.
