After Glowecestershire arc, cannot change cloak appearance, stuck on feathery bone head cloak.
During this arc, they make you wear a costume cloak, it has the protruding bone head with all the teeth covering your face. No matter what I change my cloak to, it remains this appearance, unequipped cloak, changed to other cloaks, it ALWAYS remains this appearance.

This a know bug? Any advice on how to fix?

Thank you!

I had the same and somehow it went back to normal, sorry that was like 50 playhours ago and i can not really remember why or how it fixed itself. I guess you also tried holding "B" for manually desguise, yes ? :epicstickman:

Thanks yeah, I keep the hood down, but cloaks for me are the most enjoyable armor piece to manipulate cosmetically. I guess it will have to do for now, and hopefully it will resolve itself like it did on your end. Thanks for the reply.

I couldn't believe this post because I had just written down all the exact same facts, and so that I'd spell Glowecestrescire correctly! :steamhappy: I tired almost everything, but never in my wildest dreams would I have seen mounting and decloaking simultaneously as a strategy!
Kudos - if it works!

Sorry, that didn't work. Also no matter what you change into you have a black feathered cloak. I just shut the visual off, doesn't actually matter, it will still provide a "cloaked" status. No more trick or treating for me in Britain!

It did not work for me. I tried hiding the cloak slot, that only places your face inside the previously empty animal skull...I tried rebooting, reloading, quit to main menu, stll got it.

As far as I can tell, once you start the trick-or-treat quest in Glowecesterscire, you're stuck with the mask forever (there may be ways to glitch out of it, but they don't work reliably). However, the mask will only be shown if you're a) in Glowecesterscire and b) wearing a hood.

Personally, I just didn't wear the hood in Glowecesterscire unless I absolutely had to.

there is hope, I was able to resolve this by removing my cloak from my armor set, logging off and back in, and after coming back, the graphic was gone. I put my regular cloak back on, and everything looks as it should now.

I fast-traveled to Raventhorp, took everything off, saved, left the game. Restarted, cape was fine, I tried the Iberian one and it looked normal, took it off, but when I fast-traveled to Glowecestrescire, and put the Iberian cloak on, II still had a bone face when enabling the cloak. :steamsad: I'll just continue on the quest, its just cosmetic (and disturbing! I never had a face forward view of Eivor wearing the cloak up while trick or treating in the village)

Myself I had a temporary problem with not having the Mari Lwyd mask when I was needed it. Perhaps most players already used manual activating of cloak, or at least used the action wheel. Myslef I never until I realized I was needing doing it to wear on the Mari Lwyd mask.

For keyboard users the action is in the wheel action they probably never use unlike gamepad users.

The base error design is have make it a special mechanic instead of just have add a Mari Lwyd cape & mask to the player inventory. I get the problem of requesting some extra dialog and block the quest steps if the player isn't wearing it, but it should have make a good extra trick and the NPC coming with MC could have hint to player to wear the cloak.

For wearing it off, for me it worked to remove the current cloak worn, and activate manually the cloak, and wear again a cloak and repeat, and repeat this for each equipment set. And just equip unequip the current cloak didn't work if I remember well.

I read that for many players what worked is mount a horse and on horse manually activate the cloak.

Dorok, I tired the horse thing, no success. Also while you are in this story arc, even if you don't have any cloak equipped, when you enter an unsafe zone, and the game tells you you need to be disguised, that boneface cloak automatically equips and activates.
Yes, it should have simply been another cloak, so we would have control over it. Good idea.

In the quest sometimes you need activate it manually and it's hidden in the action wheel I never used, that's why I had problems.

For removing the bug, sorry that nothing works. Did you really tried the reset of all equipment sets? It's a trick I had read somewhere and it seems it's what worked for me, not sure.

I finished the arc, that got rid of it for now. If it only happens when I go to that one area, it's not a big deal; funny, it even appeared in the cut-scenes, that empty skull... :steamhappy:

Hey there,

I'm glad you were able to solve the issue.

As for the cloak and mask reappearing when entering Glowecestrescire, please note that this is working as intended.

Please let us know if you need further support.

Thank you very much.

Just to be clear, the special cloak will ALWAYS reappear when back in Glowecestrescire? Was this detailed anywhere in text, because I sure missed it. If I had known the cape was intended to work that way, it would have saved a lot of time and effort trying to get rid of it! It is good to have it clarified though, as it was a mystery.
Thanks.
