[WARNING] River Raid quest breaking bug (spoilers)

WARNING Spoilers ahead.

I hope this message reaches those that have just started river raids or just before they reach River Rhine. There is a quest breaking bug that stops you from progressing farther into the quest line.

The glitch/bug

When entering River Rhines you will be tasked with killing two captains to draw out a champion. There is one captain at Fort Ehrenfels and another at Katzenelnbogen. If you kill the captain at Fort Ehrenfels first and then return to Ravensthrope, it somehow breaks the quest line. When you return to River Rhines and kill the second captain at Katzenelnbogen, it will not register. It will still say 1/2 captains killed and your screwed.

However....

There is a work around to avoid the quest breaking bug. When entering River Rhines for the first time, IMMEDIATELY find Katzenelnbogen and kill the captain there. Then go to Fort Ehrenfels and kill the second captain there. I suggest after that, finishing the quest line for River Rhines and find and kill the Champion just be on the safe side.

I'm not sure if killing the captain at Fort Ehrenfels first or killing the captain at Fort Ehrenfels first and then going back to Ravensthrope causes the bug.

I hope this helps/saves a lot of people from a huge headache. I was fortunate enough to have a save right before I reached River Rhines.

This issue should have been resolved with the final update 1.7.0.

If you have the update installed and the issue persists then I'm afraid there is nothing else we can suggest as 1.7.0 was the final update.
