I would eat a lot of hate for what I am about to say, but honestly there are no high end cards.
There are cards for Full HD, 2K and 4K. Playing on a 4K card and outputting FullHD on your monitor or having a Full HD monitor will render you with lower FPS than it you should have.
I don't believe that Sony had that problem thought. Can you refer me to the game? I became a huge fan of Sony since their Horizon: Zero Dawn and God of War ports... Nobody, I mean nobody has made such good ports for PC... trust me, I hated all consoles and PC ports till that point because games were made for Consoles and then lazy ported.. awfully lazy ported, including the lock of 30 FPS you were talking about.
GXT 1080.
According to GE Experience I use version 527.56 of graphic drivers, but since long so with CTD and recently without CTD.
Play with game graphic settings seem have changed CTD rate, more rare, very frequent, none at all. Currently I have both overlays of, Steam and Ubi, but before I had them both off and still CTD.
No motherboard semi-supports a CPU. It is either supported on the board or it's not. I would suggest defaulting BIOS and than update to latest version. Once updated apply the optimal settings of your choice and load the correct XMP profile or alike if supported.
AMD does have a lot of settings for CPU that you can set in BIOS. It is good to know what settings do what and how they effect certain games. There was a thread awhile ago for other AC game about a certain AMD BIOS Setting interfering with this games performance causing crashing. Sorry, I can not remember what.
You could also try a clean boot. Disable all non essential programs, services, and tasks from loading when PC boots. You may have software that is conflicting with the game. Yes I know, you dont have any other issues with other games, but all games are different. So some troubleshooting needs to be done in order to see what is causing the issue.
Have you also checked your power profiles? This will def effect your system and the CPU boost of AMD processor. Also make sure your temps are good and you are not throttling. I would recommend using MSI Afterburner with RivaTuner to monitor temps in real time while playing for both CPU/GPU.
Have you also looked into this:
Have you updated your system to fix fTPM issue?

Have you tried running DDU and installing 527.56?
Here is link for DDU. It has a guide and explains what it is/does. Make sure to read/follow it if unfamiliar. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4224
When installing display driver do not install GeForce Experience. Its garbage.
The errors you are getting are generic errors. Under the general tab look for faulting module name and path. If it is indeed related to the driver itll show there. If it is, run DDU and install display driver again.
Keep GPU scheduling off. Not needed with little difference anyway.
Also disable Xbox game bar, game mode, and capture.
Make sure windows is up to date on latest public build. No insider, preview, or optional updates. You should be on version 22H2, build 19045.2364.
You can also use DXVK. May or may not help, but worth a try.
I guess you are not familiar with B550 motherboards and when 5000 Ryzen series came out.
You need a 3000 series CPU then upgrading BIOS, then placing he 5000 series processor...
Now the latest motheboards can support them but at the time it was coming out in 2020 when motherboards and CPU were rare as gem stone that was your option.

I am on a version that isn't even listed here L1.14 I should recheck again but I think that was the version.
I wanted to update it over the internet but there is no option which is weird.
You could also try a clean boot. - By how I set my PC, it's almost a clean boot... I have like only Logitech Hub and ASrock Phantom Gaming Tuning. I hate bloatware.
I am also on the correct XMP profile, don't worry.
The stutter happens only in AC: Valhalla, no other game does this. I am pretty sure if more people write they will point out that stutter before the crash.
Doing the BIOS update on an AsRock I would prefer not ... if other games have this issue sure, I would do it, but Asrock have made it so it makes your hair gray during the upgrade.
No Windows BIOS live upgrade as well... GB, Asus and MSI have this...
Have you tried running DDU and installing 527.56? - Yes.
You should be on version 22H2, build 19045.2364. - Didn't this come out last week? I mean I am on it, but versions from 2020 when the game came out till now should work as well.
No it would not. As long as you are on at least one of the original updated BIOS for the 5K series. Defaulting BIOS does not downgrade the version. It only defaults the settings.
Since the first official update for your board was 1.20 to support 5K series and you are on a beta version L1.14. It would be wise to update as that beta version was probably taken down due to an issue/s. So its no longer public at all. Or you have the wrong BIOS for your board.
Are you sure its not L2.14? Typo or misread the number?
Never update any BIOS or FW over the internet. Always download to avoid any corruption or issues due to bad download or other unforeseen things during update.
If you are concerned about CPU issue with motherboard to update the BIOS. AMD has a loaner program and will send you a 3K series CPU. See this link for more info.

I guess you are not familiar with your own system.
As per the clean boot. Running Logitech software or other tuning software can cause compatibility issues with certain games/programs. Disable all non-essential as suggested. Dont assume, and do the proper troubleshooting steps to correct the issue.
Lastly, the game has been out for quite some time. Nothing was changed to the game when it released on steam.
Here are some threads for known issues which do not report crashing for NVIDIA users.
https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/81608/reported-issue-megathread-list-check-here-for-your-issue-updated-19-12-22?lang=en-US
I have no idea what crashes. Game just freeze and close from time to time. Only ubisoft syncing pop up.
As per the loan program I wasn't aware of it. When I purchased it the retailer offered me a free upgrade on the BIOS and I was okay with it.
Anything below this version will render the machine useless until I do the RMA process.
Which I won't do during the holidays... and considering I am almost finished at 100% with Valhalla, I would postpone it for the end of January when shipping's and sales have normalized.
Another thing is that the documents for purchases are in another location, which is at least a 4 hour drive.
And as I said, there isn't another game that crashed my PC in the last 2 years. My build is since 2020 December. I have played numerous games. Crashes.. on this PC is a first timer for me.
All I know is that for some reason the game crashes the gpu driver. Yes it could be BIOS, yes it could be RAM, yes it could be faulty drivers... it could be anything but I was wondering if it's not specific only for nvidia graphics cards, which it's not.
If a retailer did the BIOS update than they most likely installed the wrong BIOS for you. Or again, that version was taken down.
Since update 1.20 supports 5K CPU you will be fine. Not sure why you think it will be a downgrade. No need to setup an RMA at all. Not sure why you say that. Again, if so concerned get a loaner CPU from AMD at no charge.
I gave many suggestions above. Not just for BIOS. Which you should try. Even if you think that is not the problem. As I already stated all games are different. Read my comment #27 again above and see if those steps help.
You can also try an sfc scan for windows.
Had some initial crashes here & there when I picked up valhalla again for last chapter & finishing ragnarök but the game somehow got over it and nothing since.
Same for me, it also changes my keyboard language every so often.
It is possible for programs to interfere with one another, which could lead to programs not being able to use the necessary resources to run the game. Using the Clean Boot option, you can disable all services and startup programs to see if the issue occurs the next time you restart your computer. If the game runs after performing a Clean Boot, we can assume that there is some kind of conflicting software.
1. Press the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard at the same time.
2. In the Run window that appears, type in msconfig.
3. Click on the OK button.
4. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
5. Uncheck the "Load startup items" checkbox.
6. Click on the Apply button.
7. Click on the Services tab.
8. Click on the Disable all button.
9. Click on the Apply button.
10. Click on the OK button.
11. Press the CRTL key, the Shift key, and the ESC keys on your keyboard at the same time.
12. On the Startup tab, right-click each item, and select Disable.
13. Restart your computer.
After step 13 when my pc rebooted it was brought to my pin logon screen but instead of the enter your pin prompt it just said "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to setup your PIN again." with "Set up my pin" clickable below. When i click that there's a popup "The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application". There was no way to login to my pc. I got this every time when trying safe mode boots.
I ended up having to go through windows recovery to restore from a restore point a few days back to be able to log back into my pc. Support took 6 days to reply but closed the ticket due to no immediate response. I'm done giving ubisoft my money. Ubisoft is the opposite of a AAA company in the pc gaming world. I'm going to try to refund the game on steam.
