Yes, Valhalla is first game to support cross platform saves. So just copy the save from UC and paste it into Steam directory.

Valhalla has always had cross progression. You can play it on Steam, PS5, and Uplay all on different devices and your saves will sync up no matter what version you're on.

can confirm cloud works.. if u have the dlcs on uplay, u just need to buy the base game here and it will detect those accordingly..

I bought the basic version of this game on ubisoft connect earlier, if I buy it now on steam will I have a saves from ubisoft?

You'll get a new copy in your Ubisoft connect account. So you probably have to boot up the old version first and manually move over the save file to the new version.

I had to do this in the past because i had 2 copies of Ghost Recon Wildlands.
