Wanting to take back legally purchased games is not a usual practice
Nope not what I mean I mean actually taking back digitally owned games people paid for.
They’ll be sold off shortly after Shadows fails.
Hmm, that's what I said when the Star Wars prequels came out, then Disney said "hold my beer".
why ppl want AC Shadows to fail so franchise would turn into gacha mobile garbage is beyond me
Uplay have been replaced with UBISOFT Connect which also means that Uplay server went dead (reason that some AC content like multiplayer part of some AC games have been closed down).
EDIT: There where also leggit reason from UBISOFT to scrap Uplay and rebuild their server system with UBISOFT Connect as Uplay wasn't build for handling that massive amount of games that they have today. Uplay isn't just a launcher it was a server structure that had its limits and the same with UBISOFT Connect which also at some time will need to be changed if they expand too much on how games work within their infrastructure. One can see that also have happened with Steam as Steam have gradually changed since it was first introduced to make games accessible through their server and network where some games is better to run from their launcher (MMOs in particular), then through Steam for updates etc.
There where a transfer from Uplay to UBISOFT Connect some years ago when player library had to be moved to new server system and that didn't go too well as with that new system 2 step verification also changed which locked out player from their owned games and had to ask CS to re-open access to get access to their game on UBISOFT Connect.
Hoping for any game company to fail or file for Bankruptcy is counter productive, if the only reason for that wish to get game company to improve on certain aspect of their business model, to fix bugs or issues with games as that will mean that agreement between player (purchaser) and seller/publisher (UBISOFT) will be forfeit and the new "owner" of IP from will be able to set what ever agreement they want (in worse case you will be forced to re-purchase content) as the new owner of rights can set whatever conditions they want.
