Does Valhalla still crash constantly on PC?
I tried this game a couple years back and refunded it because it crashed consistently every 30 mins or so on both of my PC's. Has this been resolved or is it still a buggy crashy mess?

yepp game is still bricked.
Game ran perfectly fine at launch and runs better now. Might be a hardware issue, check your specs and see if they are recommended.

Both my PC's way exceed the specs.

One is an all AMD system with a 6800m and a 5890 Ryzen 9, 32gb ram

other system is i7 14700k, RTX 4080, 32gb DDR5 6400, both SSD's.

Game crashed on both system pretty consistently, every half hour to an hour. Made it unplayable. This was last year ish.

Nothing changed with the game, so unless you try and figure out why the game was crashing for you nothing will change.

If two different computers have the same exact problem, that says you most likely did something wrong with both.

Like installing a bad software that could be causing those crashes, a bad mod, forced unstable overclocks, improperly installed video drivers or something similar.

Theres no bad software. Both are extremely lean in terms of software, maybe the laptop a bit less so, but the desktop is exclusively for gaming and has basically nothing on it but other games and the drivers to run them. If the game is crashing on that system, and its the ONLY game doing it, out of all of them, its the games fault.

I am an IT professional with 7 systems in my house alone at the moment, so I actually do know what im doing.

Theres plenty of folks in the reviews and on reddit with similar issues. Maybe its Windows 11? Dont know, it doesnt give an error, it just crashes. But if there has been some patches, perhaps its been fixed?

Sorry but you have two different pcs and you managed to put both in this consistent crash state, it could be the game but it could very well be you.

There are thousands of people playing the game but only a few experience constant crashing, and either you are terribly unlucky to own two separate hardware that don't work well with this game or you did something wrong both times.

Hmm I wonder if this was it. I only played the game for 1.5 hours back when I tried it last and it crashed 3 or 4 times and that was enough for me. Its on a super deep sale now so was considering giving it another shot

The game still suffers from crashes, however, to minimize and somehow resolve it, you go to the computer's documents, select the game folder, go to properties and disable “read only”, apply and open the game, you will be able to play smoothly for many hours, you will probably finish your gameplay without facing these crashes, it worked very well for me, I am currently playing through GamePass and I would also like to buy the best version in this promotion that is going on. Conclusion, it's definitely very playable, nothing that will make you quit the game, I'm really annoying with performance and game construction in general. Ah, always deactivate this option when playing, unfortunately it comes back for some reason.
I disabled overlay in ubisfot and delete the cache files map every time before boot up and it never crashes..

Yeah it just crashed just now... and the cause of the crash according to the Event Viewer is -

Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 for container '{3C778BB7-F93E-11ED-86CA-A036BCD007A9}'
