What price are you talking about? We don't know what price you will have to pay as it can be different depending on where you live and what kind of currency exchange you have to pay for purchasing items from Steam Store.

Value added tax (VAT) are also different from country to county so it is hard to say what is reasonable price without any more then a comment "price too high - for this 'old' game".

As mention Valhalla and most UBISOFT games have been on sale, so it is best to wait until next sale. Make sure to purchase an edition (Complete edition) to avoid having to purchase DLC content which is still priced too high for what they offer compared to purchasing edition that contains everything including those DLC.

Scroll down and you should be able to see all edition (also change language on the bottom of same page to see your own currency as it is in SEK for Sweden which UBI will auto detect from your browsers IP):

https://store.ubisoft.com/eu/assassins-creed-valhalla-complete-edition/616edba50d253c42d49fa64f.html?lang=en-SE

If you already own any UBISOFT games and have played them then it is also possible that you have Loyalty Units that can give you reduction with 20 % of price in your check out.

You need to 100 LU to get this reduction and you earn it from achievement while playing games that are part of UBISOFT Connect launcher.

On Steam you will have other system which might also give you more price reduction even during sale, so it is up to you to figure out what will be the best way to purchase game.

No one’s twisting your arm to buy the game. Can’t afford it? Wait for a sale. Don’t want to afford it? Then don’t bother.

Perhaps you could come to the simple realization that not every game was meant to be yours.
Green Man Gaming has it on sale at 82% off

From what I could see that sale is for UBISOFT Connect which means that code must be used on UBISOFT Connect and not on Steam client when purchased from GMG.

Complete edition cost there € 24.64.

That is correct.
Ubisoft games for Steam can not be bought on Greenman Gaming.

This better than Odyssey? Origins was great but greece is fugly. Also the story is trash, not very mythos. Valhalla gotta be better with the snow etc. /shrug

I got the game on sale, but it's worth every penny. I completed Origins in 44 hours. This game I completed after 87 hours. And that's just the base story. I'm over 100 now just playing the extra content. I recently just finished the Francia story and have successfully defeated all the Order of Ancients.

With Shadows around the corner, you might just save your money and wait for this game to go on sale. Save yourself some money.
