Can't uninstall DLCs

I bought the full game on steam, with all the dlcs, but, I want to make sure to experience the original games with starting any dlc by accident. I've tried to use the DLC tab on the steam client and even if I uncheck the DLC, the game will still recognize them ass installed.

Honestly I dont think you need to worry about that because the dlcs that you would want to complete after main game are higher level anyway and they have the dlcs intertwined within the game now, to where certain characters arrive at certain point in the game but you when you meet them are not forced to immediately start any of their quests . you can say you will be back later.. You can tell what quests are for the dlcs in game. and even if you did say the ireland dlc, it really wouldnt affect doing it before finishing the main game. They have everything pretty well marked what quests are what in the game. for example i went to an area in the main game and instead of it letting me complete the entire thing once i hit certain point in it Aivor woke up to continue in main story. so i really think you will be ok.

If it's like Origins, you get the quests but they are really high level, or if it's like Odyssey then you gotta beat main story before you can even see em anyway, dunno, I want the game bad, but I haven't played much more than 15 minutes on the PS4 original console, lagged so bad I returned it. This is my dads favorite series miss him

yah the dlc questline missions are their own separate things. you wont be able to start them without intentionally doing so. ireland, frankia, twilight/ragnarok, all that stuff are separate questlines. if you want to experience the vanilla game, just stay away from those questlines until you finish the main story. you can do the asgard questline you get from the vala tho if you want, its basegame but not required for main story.
basically, dlc in the sense of downloadable content doesnt exist anymore. all that content is already downloaded. it is unlockable content, not downloadable content, the dlc name has just stuck around and is industry standard, but its inaccurate.
