Add-ons

WHY does it take the same amount of time to "check for add-ons" (of which I own zero) as it does to load the entire game? And why is there a "push button" to start even looking? Just load the game -- all of it -- and then go to the menu. They do this for everything, and it's just stupid. Are they trying to shame ppl into getting DLC by making them wait?

it's been like that since AC1, never bothered me, also I got all the story dlcs in all titles and none of the equipment ones

Did AC1 have add-ons? I never owned it, but I played it on a friend's PS3 when it came out.
