Regarding shields in the Left hand

Do their passives actually work just like the Solskin Shield with its bonus adrenaline for critical hits?

I'm using Gae Bolg with Solskin Shield.

using gae bolg on the off hand with mjolnir as base weapon and the hammer gets red lightning from gae bolg so I guess "it just works" ? definitely not sure though
