I think Ubisoft will release a premium DLC featuring a Japanese Samurai. They will see the outrage as an opportunity to capitalise because they are a morally bankrupt company and looking at recent share price activity, soon to be financially bankrupt.

The Japanese people own Japanese culture not Ubisoft and if they find this latest instalment of Assassins Creed offensive then Ubisoft deserve to be boycotted in Japan. They would not do this to any black or indigenous culture around the world so I don’t know why they feel they have the right to do it to Japanese.

I doubt Japanese care, most of the controversy is in the western section of social media, I don't read or speak Japanese but I do have a Japanese friend he said it's mostly positive he said there are a few angry people but obviously 100% satisfaction is impossible. Although he said he has seen quite a bit of broken japanese hate comments so which makes sense as i've heard apparently that is a thing people are doing.

I mean given how many black samurai anime there is i am not to surprised, although from the horror stories i hear about being a black person in japan i'm surprised these anime exist at all. Japan is super xenophobic dark skinned and koreans especially (apparently).

I'm no expert so I don't want to claim anything as truth that i am ignorant on.

I did a little digging into a lot of the negative "Japanese" comments on youtube and whatnot, surprisingly they're not FROM Japan.

I once found one who basically said "making it a non-Japan is a crime" in broken Japanese, dug around, found another comment on another video where the guy says he's from Finland. Lol

They cared enough that the trailer has been ratioed to hell on Japanese YouTube. I think some comments in this discussion might be coming from fanboys or Ubi employees. Good luck with your African Samurai. I can’t wait for Assasins Creed Zulu with a Japanese protagonist. Maybe Ubi should just forget historical settings and make a fantasy game fall of Black LGBTQI characters. That’s what they really want and it would be easier than trying to shoe-horn these values into historical settings.

They tried to boycott Hogwarts Legacy, due to the author's views, who is not involved with the game at all.
Think these were the same group who review bombed the wrong MW3.
They expect everything to be the same, without doing actual research on how Japan was changed by people.

They are even going extra, typing in English antiblack rants and then using Google translate to make it Japanese 🤣.

Native Japanese speakers been showing that the languages are clearly computer generated Japanese and not how people speak and convos.

same people mad about Shadows complained about black vikings in Valhalla and Valhalla then grossed over a billion and became Ubisoft's highest grossing title.

this'll be more of the same, an Assassin's Creed game set in Japan is going to do very well and the people who complain about black people are thankfully a minority.

What did I say that was racist? And I used that spelling of lite intentionally as that is the way it is often spelt in marketing and isn’t that what woke is all about? But I’m curious about where the evidence is that I’m racist. Am I racist because I disagree with your opinion? It must be difficult to have your student politics opinions challenged. It is not racist to suggest that having a black Samurai in a game set in medieval Japan is historically inaccurate. In fact I think those suggesting it is ok for a 6’2ft Samurai of African descent slaughtering Asians are the racists here.

There are plenty of African kingdoms that Ubisoft could make an Assassins Creed game in and I would applaud that and I would be more than happy to play as an African character.
