How to fish?
I thought with the fishing hut in your own settlement, once its built you would unlock a fishing rod to buy. There are some nice rewards to get if you bring x-amount of fish but nothing to purchase.

Does eivor unironicly only hunt fish with her bow? Because im not gonna be patient enough to do that lol.

I don't remember if you have to explicitly buy the fishing rod (it's been a while since I played the game) - but have you checked your tool wheel whether the "fishing" action is selectable there?

Usually you'd go to the shore of a lake or river, bring up your tool wheel, select the "fishing" icon, then press and hold the right mouse button and move the mouse around until you find a good spot, then release the right mouse button to throw your line.

It's not just you, I played for a 100 hrs before I realized the Raid horn is on that alternate menu!

Personally would just use bow. Scares off nearby fish, but so much quicker skipping the minigame.

i cant hit sht with the bow, under water at least with moving fish XD But the fishing is actually the same controls like in RDR2 so im used to it.

I like to do it the old school way and stealth assassinate my way through XD only on really big areas i do the raids.

Aside from when you are doing a quest that requires actual fishing, such as the world event where the kid pretended that her brother turned into a fish, just using your bow is always faster. All you need are arrows.

Use Eagle Vision. Aim, and loose. If they're in deeper water, have a mount that can swim, go out, then do it.

Note that the fish always run from you if you are touching the water, so standing on the shore or jetties or whatnot is the best spot to fish from.

to get the fishing Rope just build the fishmongers.

then hold G select fish aim and cast.

most stuff seems to ignore the lure though, maybe i needs more of the fishing books.
