Steam Deck freezes and crashes?
As the title says, since the new OS update I get regular freezes (sound chopping then the display freezes) in Valhalla. They occur every 10 to 20 minues, while previously I was able to play for 6-8 hours straight without any issues.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues? Any fix?

So this fix works as I was able to play for >4 hours without any issues:

1. Go to the destop mode (Steam / Power / Swtich to Desktop)
2. Launch the game from desktop icon there
3. Quit game as soon as it allows you to
4. Click on the Uplay icon in the SteamOS system tray
5. Go to Settings / General and disable "In-game overlay for supported games"
6. Close and select "Return to Gaming Mode" from desktop

I use the following settings for the game:
1. Full screen (not windowed)
2. 40 FPS limt
3. Vertical Alignment OFF
4. 100% resolution
5. Adaptive OFF
6. Anti-alising MAX
Everything else is med-low with postprocessing OFF.

I also limit frame and refresh rates to 40 via steam power settings, as well as set TPD to 12.
Seems to work for me. Thanks!

Found another easy fix - well mostly easy - for steam deck.
1: Go into Steamdeck Desktop mode
2: Go into steam app and play the Ubisoft game you want to play.
3: After you see the Ubisoft icon show up on the right side of the bottom tray - click on it. The game will still be loading - takes it a minute.
4: In the Ubisoft box that pops up, select the button with 3 lines on top left.
5: Under settings/general unclick the “allow in game overlays”.
6: Close Ubisoft and stop the game you launched.
7: Go ahead and move back into game mode and you will notice that when you load the game it will notify you that your in game overlays are disabled.

Thanks - Does this stop the crashes completely, or does it extend how long you can go without crashing

I have not had any crashes since and I play around 3 hours at a time.

These fix device freezes. I still had two freezes where I was able to close the game and relaunch it without restarting my steam deck, but those occurred after like 6 hour play sessions, so they are totally okay and would happen anyway.

If I may ask: how are you getting 6 hours? My SteamDeck battery dies within 2 hours of launching this game

I play at home and have my SD connected to power at all times.
