ye,
I like it better than that one. The only thing that I find really going for origins is the story and world.
The leveling is boring. The loot was boring there too.
Odyssey I think is the best in terms of looting/gear. STory is pretty cool in odyssey too, especially near the end.
valhalla is really good with how you level up, and difficulty customization.
The world is just as good in all 3 games in different ways.
The loot can be kinda boring in this game though, just cuz if you want you could just stick with one set all game, as you do get one of the better sets early game.
I wish this game had a mix of Odysseys loot and this games, would be perfect then.
The story could seem more bland though, ive not gotten far, but from what I gather its more about WAR WAR WAR, but im sure youll get the cool mystery stuff as you get the the prior two games.
And the DLC look really good in this game.
I hope ubisoft continues with delving more and more into the mythology of the culture in the future. This game has a lot more mythological stuff, literally an entire DLC around it.
People get mad that "its not accurate to what reality is" cuz they want it realistic
But personally, Id love to see more monsters. THe culture of these historical periods IS what makes history interesting too me, other wise its literally the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over. You can make a hysterically accurate game, while having the mythology in it.
As people back then literally believed this stuff, plus youre in a VR game. I dont think there should be the excuse to use shrooms or sleep to experience the mythology. It just should be in the game at random. As long as the mythology is accurate, and the setting is and culture. Then thats what an assassins creed game is.
Anyways the game def is worth it, just keep in mind the main story is like 60+ hours lol, and its mostly WAR WAR WAR.
So adjust the difficulty settings to make combat more interesting and enhance it, so its fun thru out the entire thing. And try different gear.
You can respect anytime too.
Its a pretty good game.
The reason its mixed, is mostly due to the ubisoft launcher, no achievements, the length, and it being assassins creed so people are gettin burned out.
Well imo thats like 50% of the hate towards this game.
The other 50% is valid complaints about it.
Maybe style since it isnt as colorful, the textures and everything are an upgrade.
Also this is the price cut lol.
odyssey has not gone down in price since 2018 and prolly wont for a long time.
Doubt this game will get a price cut in the next 5+ years. And its like 45 usd for the entire thing.
Thats def worth it if you like these type of games. That is less than a dollar per hour for the entire length of the story. Like about 30 cents per hour of gameplay LOL.
Def not worth the like 120+ usd at full price though
a discount is a temp price cut :^).
odyssey didnt go down when this game came out. Valhalla i think is their most selling assassins creed game. It wont get an actual price cut aside from a sale in at the least half a decade like odyssey. Its ubisoft after all.
Nor will it get to 15 usd, not even the first assassins creed is 15 usd on pc.
Theyre all over 20 usd.
Youre blind though and just not being factual. Odyssey has a better art style by a fair bit, but worse textures compared to valhalla. makes me think youve actually never played this game, and just saw like pre release pictures of valhalla which did look worse than the game now. And went with that. Keep in mind, not saying this game looks much better, its pretty close. Characters armor, and technical sides like tessellation flat out looks better, environment textures look about the same, water looks about the same. Lighting and volumetric effects, are better in this game as well.
Saying this game has worse textures than odyssey is like saying resident evil 4 remake has worse textures than resident evil 8.
not arguing further on this though, since there is no point, its like trying to debate a person who believes the earth is flat. Or that dinosaurs where never real.
To OP though. if you liked the prior game, id watch a few reviews on this one. As people who loved odyssey often dont love this game, and vise versa, and youll get likely less of a biased responses
Combat here is more janky, lot of broken animations. There is more content and maps but it feels more copypasted.
They also decided to stop patching it. So what you'll buy will have very limited support, mainly in the form of conversation bots asking you for your PC specs until you give up answering and move on to another game.
Only buy the base game in a deep deep sale, or find some fit girl who could lend you the game.
The game's way too big though. I put 20+ hours into it and burn out every time because 20 hours barely gets you anywhere in the story if you engage with the side content at all too.
