dlaa fixes everything too but it's not as widely adopted as dlss.
in plague tale requiem dlaa fixes the blurry mess taa causes.
when nvidia announced this aa method I was hoping for devs to ditch taa and fully make use of dlaa but instead dlaa is rarely used.
It's probably the most underrated and underutilized feature on Nvidia RTX GPUs
Why Ubisoft forced AA, I have no idea. How hard was it for them to include an option AA OFF which is in every other game? Small things like this blemish an otherwise good product.
In Valhalla I got about a 3% decrease in FPS with DLDSR 2.25 at 1440p and since I have to lock the game to 60 FPS so it doesn't crash all the time it basically has no effect. And you can get that 3% back and then some just by turning the in game AA down to low
Just for the record DLAA (and DLSS) is actually TAA only it uses the Tensor Cores to do the temporal part with better accuracy so it's not as blurry and tends to have less ghosting
at 1440p dldsr 2.25x is upscaling the game from 2160p to 2880p if I remember correctly, so it's unlikely the performance tax is 3%.
it doesn't matter really. what matters is the fact that it's a fine solution to fix image quality across the board.
I play every game with dldsr 1.78x and 2.25x and if that game has native dlss support it feels like cheating lol.
one of the main reasons why I haven't considered intel and amd even for my mini form factor pc
