Spamming V for Odin vision helps very much tho when looting and questing.
You can also visually change the bird at a stable.
PS: leather and ores from animals are useless. I have 30K of each in my inventory and not sure what to do with those.
In some quests you know there's a target but the quest doesn't show yet the green square. In that case explore a region with the raven will allow reveal the green square and will be a lot faster than using horse/walk throughout the whole region.
When you have a quest target and get the hud message that you are in an exploration area use the raven will reduce a lot the search area with a green highlight, if you don't use it it's a lot of pointless pain.
It still allow a faster pre analyze of an area that the reveal skill won't allow from that far.
Yes the raven doesn't allow mark a target, but you can see enemies, now its the reveal skill that allows mark enemies and for a time, and I agree that it's probably a better design choice, that is if the reveal command wasn't so annoying to bind on key of another command, it tends break the other command (climb/sprint/use/more).
I would say that marking enemies one by one with the eagle was a bit tedious, ok but not much fun.
EDIT:
For Odin vision I didn't noticed if there's any upgrade as for the raven.
EDIT:
Another point for the raven usage, it replaces a local map, in Odyssey the global map has probably more information. And one use case is the village to get an overview of buildings, possible and already build, and where are each.
