The audio is compressed to hell and back.
I can assure you that my hardware is in good condition. Besides I have already seen confirmation that the reason for the bad audio is the ridiculous amounts of compression on the audio.
Because you have a bad ear and I do not? I do not think it is presumptuous of me to have crisp sound in the games I am playing. Especially not when all of the other games I have played have had good sound. Besides, like I mentioned in my earlier post I have seen confirmation of bad audio compression.
And it still remains. Ubisoft never did anything about it and even stated: "After thorough investigation, the development team will not be able to resolve these audio issues. Resolution of this issue would require an overhaul of the entire audio system from the ground up and is not feasible. We recommend enabling subtitles to aid comprehension of dialogue."
The audio is stored at a 24,000 Hz sample rate, with a variable bitrate that peaks around 70 kbps. This is extremely bad. It is worse than CD quality.
I do as well. If they ever DO fix it, I will probably buy it again.
Sorry OP, sounds like you might have had some annoying issues but the fanboy attack squad will not make these discussion forums helpful at all.
I do not mind.
I was really hoping for some sort of fix that I could apply on my end. But after some extensive googling I came up with nothing of the sort. Just an explanation for the problem. Like I have stated earlier, if it ever does get fixed, I will probably buy it again.
Yeah, I am baffled as well. It is worse than CD quality. I saw online that it is more or less the equivalent to watching a video in 240p. That is outrageous for a game released in 2020 in my humble opinion.
