First time player

This popped up on my Steam feed yesterday and looked interesting so I wanted to give it a try.

There were no other lobbies available so just started one on my own to get a feel for the game. I reached a dead end in the room next to the starting room. Kept getting a message saying you can throw whats in your hand at switches. There are 3 metal gates blocking your path with switches behind. Despite my best efforts, and the game repeatedly telling me to do so, I couldn't hit a switch behind the gate with anything I threw. Quite quickly got bored and quit.

What is happening? What am I supposed to be doing? Am I missing something or is there really no clear explanation of how to move forward??

You need atleast 1 other player to get out of that trap

The game is impossible to play solo. You have to have at least 1 other player. The gate that is closed on boxes 1 player can open and the other crawl under. And even if you were able to do that solo. you cant hack anything alone you have to have someone else. And to get the main item you have to hack.
With that said you can toss items and hit the buttons but its a bit hard to do so.

I can confirm you that you can progress in a single player and that you need to throw an object onto the push button through the metal gate. Note that if you hold your button, it ll be thrown stronger / further.
It's easier with more players because the other can hold the metal gate for you

I did not know that you could throw harder by holding in the button. Might try that next time I play. Thanks.
