Dark Hours

Dark Hours

First impressions and feedback
Congrats on the game. It is fun and has a lot going for it. I feel I would enjoy it more with a larger play time split in the heist mechanics and a reduction of play time required for the hidden objects.

My friends and I tried Dark Hours out for the first time today with a 4 hour session. We went in hoping for a horror heist game. We had fun.

I enjoy the heist and monster aspects. Those are what I went in wanting and the game delivered. I would love to see more of them.

The most rewarding part of the game was discovering how the enemies worked. Seeing the large ear and no eyes through a locker door after my friends died while sprinting. Learning how the statues worked. The ghost freeze. Groot running us down. The spiders. Very cool. I hope to learn more about them as we play more. My friends really enjoyed playing around with the statues, and I loved the blind enemy--my friends enjoyed sacrificing each other to it by throwing things. One of my friends tried to kill me by shutting the door on me to the exit, causing the monster to come sprinting to us. We nearly full wiped when they sprinted into the exit corridor. A truly great experience seeing the enemies for the first time.

I had a hard time loving the game through the 'hidden object' aspects of it. I would like to be spending less time hunting down hidden objects. The worst case we ran into was our silver hippo heist objective in a bathroom bucket. I want to feel like I am conducting a rewarding heist. A bathroom bucket silver hippo for my heist objective really ruins my vibe when my friends and I have an hour long heist where half of it was tracking down this bucket hippo while evading a monster. It felt daunting, like a chore, and took away from the reward of "we did the heist". That same sentiment was shared with each hidden object we struggled on that took 10+ minutes of 4 people combing the map. Like a key on the bookshelf that we didn't find until we removed all of the books first.

I feel I would love the game if each round felt like I succeeded, I won the heist, or thank goodness we survived the monster, rather than leaving with the mindset of ending my suffering of searching for that blasted key, or hippo, or box.

Hey Scrubtimus,

Thank you for your constructive feedback. I'll share your thoughts with the devs. It's true that some items can be a bit too well hidden, especially when they're in the bucket, you’re not the first player to mention this. We're continuously working to improve Dark Hours!

Wishing you a great day, and once again, a huge thanks for your feedback, it really helps us a lot!
