I don't know what to do.
What I felt while playing the game was that when I first confronted him, I heard a unique sound, that when I hid, he disappeared, and that he was sensitive to the sound of the microphone and the sound of his feet. (He doesn't seem to be able to detect from a long distance unless he makes a sound of speech and footsteps.)

The following response contains quite a few spoilers:

The mummy is a monster that, like stalkers, will stare at you before gradually walking faster and faster toward you! After a while, it will cast a curse on you, preventing your stamina from regenerating for some time.

To defend yourself, you have several options:
The simplest is to hide under a table or inside a locker.
The mummy is also vulnerable of two items:
The fire extinguisher, which will slow it down slightly—just enough to give you a chance to survive!
The defibrillator, which will stun it for a few seconds!
