I normally use freelook camera and that's not even an option :/

Can't be bothered to play the game with these camera modes
I agree. I played the demo and felt the same way. The camera seemed to rotate too much.
I got a head-ach now and then from the first one, but so far this version does not bug me. Not sure why.
What camera mode did you use in the old version? I find the two auto modes suck :( I only like the freeview/free look one and that isn't in this new HD game :(
Is there any way to set the camera mode to "non-nauseating"? Even in free camera mode, the game still jerks the camera around unpredictably. I feel like I'm turning into a zombie already.
Ok, running this in fullscreen on the big monitor was obviously part of the problem. I have now set it to windowed (1280x720 on a 1980x1080 screen), turned bloom off (a tip I found elsewhere in this forum), and played in a well-lit room, and the nauseous effect is much less pronounced than it was.
I am really glad I didn't buy the game yet. I almost made a mistake. I looked at the video and the pics and my first thought was ZOMG Renegade Ops with Zombies must buy! I love this style of game, but I can totally see how a bad camera angle could potentially ruin the entire thing. I'm downloading the demo now to judge for myself.

But, if the controls are really terrible they should really think about taking a look at how Renegade Ops works, and while that still isn't perfect and can be frustratingly difficult at times, it still works and works very nicely. However I totally would of liked a handbrake in there as well.
Robotoxic,it's not the camera angle per se, it's the fact that in addition to the driving motion there is additional camera movement going on. The angles are actually pretty much ok.
I have now turned off clouds as well and switched to "static" camera, which seems to limit the problem for me. To recap:

* bloom off
* clouds off
* windowed, in a resolution that leaves enough desktop visible around the window
* static camera
* turn on the lights so your room is well lit

This helps reduce the motion and change going on in the gamewindow and gives my brain enough fixed input to consolidate that with the inner ear sensation of sitting still.

I never had this problem with GTA 1, which was also a fun game for running people over, and I bet that kind of camera would have worked well with Zombie Driver, too. (The only games I have ever "simulator sickness" on were shoddily made racing games.)

For comparison, GTA 1 is available here:
http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/?id=1

See also http://xbox.about.com/od/buyersguide/a/vgmosick.htm , which states that you can get accustomed to these motion effects, which may be why the devs didn't notice them -- or maybe they weren't as sensitive to them as we are.
Are they serious with that camera? Even just watching a demo made me feel sick, and I don't even get motion sickness.
The kicker for me, sickness aside, GTA had a camera that zoomed out the faster you went so that you could see what approached - the only thing I can see at speed with this fixed camera is likely to be the wall or house that screws your car.

Not sure how much of that is the camera - or how much it's the structure of the road, in GTA you had proper expressways etc - from what I've seen in this it's mostly suburban. Shame though as I think with the right touch it could be a good value game - if not fantastic AAA
I got the nausea playing 20 minutes this game. The camera is really a problem. I try all setting. Then I try to play with keyboard+mouse with free camera but that the same.
I'm really disapointed.-(
Sounds as bad as it was in the original, playing used to make me wanna hurl so not bothering with this one :(
I loved the demo, and would buy this straight away, but it's the only game in my very long history of gaming that has made me feel nauseous.

No game has ever made me feel literally sick, but this one, after a few minutes, I couldn't go on. The camera angle and the motion just feels all wrong.
I don't have any issues. I generally use Smart cam.

The game has more camera options added too since the start of this topic.

I think it would be indeed interesting, to see the car from behind, such a view would be awesome, also the game looks wickedly cool, and has all models in 3d so, why not try making it, after all it takes only a different camera angle.
