Can't be bothered to play the game with these camera modes
But, if the controls are really terrible they should really think about taking a look at how Renegade Ops works, and while that still isn't perfect and can be frustratingly difficult at times, it still works and works very nicely. However I totally would of liked a handbrake in there as well.
I have now turned off clouds as well and switched to "static" camera, which seems to limit the problem for me. To recap:
* bloom off
* clouds off
* windowed, in a resolution that leaves enough desktop visible around the window
* static camera
* turn on the lights so your room is well lit
This helps reduce the motion and change going on in the gamewindow and gives my brain enough fixed input to consolidate that with the inner ear sensation of sitting still.
I never had this problem with GTA 1, which was also a fun game for running people over, and I bet that kind of camera would have worked well with Zombie Driver, too. (The only games I have ever "simulator sickness" on were shoddily made racing games.)
For comparison, GTA 1 is available here:
http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/?id=1
See also http://xbox.about.com/od/buyersguide/a/vgmosick.htm , which states that you can get accustomed to these motion effects, which may be why the devs didn't notice them -- or maybe they weren't as sensitive to them as we are.
Not sure how much of that is the camera - or how much it's the structure of the road, in GTA you had proper expressways etc - from what I've seen in this it's mostly suburban. Shame though as I think with the right touch it could be a good value game - if not fantastic AAA
I'm really disapointed.-(
No game has ever made me feel literally sick, but this one, after a few minutes, I couldn't go on. The camera angle and the motion just feels all wrong.
The game has more camera options added too since the start of this topic.
