Earth Platypus glitched?
I'm stuck on the earth platypus puzzle. When I click on the puzzle there is no egg or platypus, and I'm unable to place the trap or rocks. Is this a known glitch and is there a solution?

same here

edit: just tried on second computer (both Win7) and had the same problem. Oddly the "skip puzzle" prompt is in German, even though language is set to English

OK, started a new game from the beginning and it worked this time, not sure what exactly triggered the glitch but this time through I did it in one sitting without saving/loading (or even accessing the menu) and bee lined it to earth egg as quickly as possible.

Can you say what configuration options did you choose?

Sorry, not sure exactly what you're asking. I had it set to mousewheel for inventory access, full screen and everything else was default with text and voice set to english. Started a brand new game, not just loading a previous save.

Oh, one other thing i never did was alt-tab to desktop, which i guess could be a culprit.

Hi I had the same problem.....keep backing out of the puzzle as it resets the rock....if it disapears try right clicking as it brought it back and Imediately put it in a hole so it doesnt happen again. If you fail just back out and try again.

I had the glitch immediately disappear when I changed my monitor refresh rate to 60 Hz down from 144 Hz. It also fixed the inventory clicking bug..
A bit of a necro but I wanted to mention that ananaananansmsamannasmsana's reply is correct, at least in my case.

Yep, that is the solution.
I did set my second monitor, an older 60 Hz-device as primary display and it works. Thanks :)

Game design. If they didn't specifically design the game for high refresh rates, you'll sometimes see weirdness when you go above 60 FPS or so as the game just can't put out more frames and still stay synced with everything else. It's mostly trial and error.
