Did you have a recent backup of your project you could try to load in instead?
If not, a possible way to salvage it might be to keep your current project (don't delete it), then via VxAce create a new project, close VxAce, then copy over the Audio, Data and Graphics folders from your old project folder into the new project that was just made (effectively replacing those folders/files). Launch VxAce and load in from the "new" project and hopefully you will see things as your "old" project.
I'm not sure if I explained it right, but hopefully you get the idea of what I'm trying to say and it may work for you. Good luck.
to fix that you take the common event data from the new game and cut / copy it. It can be found in C:\Users\Admin\Documents\RPGVXAce\Project3\Data, then paste it somewhere where you can move it, after that paste your old game data into the new game's folder get rid of the new games stuff (Only if you have saved the new games common event data) then go into the old game files that you just put into the new game then get rid of the common event data there and replace it with the common event data of the new game that you should have saved somewhere. however you might have to re-do all of your events but that's what I did. I hope that crud that I just said was anywhere near understandable
