RPG maker vx ace won't start
I'm not to sure if its a steam problem or what but I've verified my game cache, deleted it and re-installed it, but it still wont start the game. when i click play the steam window saying its starting it up appears but then it goes away and nothing happens

P.S. please don't post saying "i have this problem too'.

I'd suggest to try the following:

* Disable the Steam-Cloud for VxAce.
* Disable the Steam-Community overlay for VxAce.
* Opt-out of any Betas for VxAce.
* Have Steam-client and VxAce set to run with Windows Administrator level privilages.

Tried re-starting your computer yet?

What Windows version you using and computer's specs?

Have your Windows, sound and graphic drivers up-to-date?

Close other programs before lanching VxAce? Perhaps something else is conflicting with it.

Ensure thar your anti-virus isn't blocking Steam and VxAce? Set it to allow those programs to run / give-exceptions / whitelist with your anti-virus program.

Is VxAce installed on a different hard-drive other than the default location that Steam wants to install it? If so, try installing it on your main hard-drive instead.

this is a new problem i havent had before today. and as far as i know all my stuff is up to date, and my anti-virus hasnt been a problem before. as i said this a new problem.

and i cent even find the product key to ask for support on the apps home page

Bummer. Well, as it looks like you have it on your Steam account, you don't need any key to ask for help with Support. I'm not sure what else to suggest at this point. Do you get any kind of error message?

you might be able to check windows event viewer to see if its throwing errors there, if you are not seeing any on the screen at the time of the crash.

And I happen to have it. Or at least a free version that's kind enough to play games on but not run the editor. (If I try to run the editor at all, the process appears for a few seconds, and completely vanishes.) And I didn't even get it from Steam. (To be fair, I don't have a job, nor a credit card. So I'm kinda forced to get anything that's free or force my Parents to get me something.)
Hey. I tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling RPG Maker VX Ace, and refreshing my Steam files. And nothing has changed for me. What's going on?
