WTF! My arrow keys wont work???
Just purchased the software, and my arrow keys wont work correctly when testing the game. Seems the Up and right key only works. My character only wants to move left to the edge of the screen. I know its not my keyboard because my arrows work on other applications. I have no joystick or other remotes that could affect my keys. Looking into some research on the net, I keep seeing a arrow key bug, but nobody seems to know how to fix the problem. Need help on this. Really frustrates me, I purchase something for $70 WTF!

In some cases I've seen it reported to be a conflicting device (game-controller, webcam, Wii-mote, etc...) that can cause such an issue, and that unplugging such a device may resolve it.

If you haven't done so already, try restarting your computer and see if that resolves it.

Another thing to try; if your keyboard has a number-pad area, try tapping the Numb Lock key either on or off and see if that makes any difference.
Alternatively, the keys on a Number Pad (2, 4, 6 and 8) may be able to move the character.
Gosh reinstalled the game, restarted computer, Numlocks, closed all background applications, unplugged my mouse even. What application would prevent me to use my arrow keys? Running a Razer Deathstalker keyboard. As I look further into the problems through steam forums etc. Its a ongoing issue. Nothing has come up with a straight concrete answer. This is getting rediculous. I run the most graphic, high stress cpu games on my PC and I cant even run a small little program due to a arrow key bug.. Come on devs... sigh, refund plz :(
Yes, it seems a strange issue and it's not always the same thing that causes it. I seem to recall that for one User it had something to do with a driver or utility installed or a conflict with a particular brand of sound-card (I think it was 'Xonar' brand or something like that).

One other thing to possibly try; If you had a different keyboard handy, maybe try plugging that in and see if that makes a difference.

I imagine that would be quite frustrating and if you can't soon find a way to resolve it then perhaps you should consider requesting a refund.

A new version of RPG Maker is coming out soon, http://store.steampowered.com/app/363890/ , so if still wanting to get into using RPG Maker perhaps that may be the version to get and hopefully it won't have the same issue with your computer.

Good luck.
Thanks, Nothing yet. Ill keep problem solving. I cant think of a software or a game that a bug would effect my keys untill this one. First time. Sad, looking forward to this software, will be requesting a refund soon.
Control Panel<Hardware and Sound<View devices and printers--- I basically had to destroy all my drivers and delete them. Reinstall. Cant even have a updated driver. Problem Solved. The software wont work with a standard updated driver for printers/tvs/keyboards/mouse. Pretty sad. On going issue and looks like the devs still wont address it.
In conclusion drivers within your computer can cause keyboard command issues within the RPG Maker software. Particular to the movement commands.
That's weird. I was thinking only Windows 10 doing stubborn things. BTW I never had/saw/read that problem... You running TV on your computer?

But true. it is sad because RPGMaker is a VERY special game maker. :( I'm sad that you can't enjoy it!
i have a very annoying variation: if i press arrow keys in my browser, it moves it to the spot it normally is when i use the game
I disabled drivers one at a time in device manager until the arrows keys worked again. The bad driver for me was the last one in the Human Interface Devices section.
I have this precise problem actually. Nothing seems to be able to solve it...

I managed to solve this myself by disabling one of my HMI controllers in the Human Interface Devices section, thanks for the help but I have to say this is a pretty strange problem
What works for me is unplugging my keyboard completely, opening the game and seeing the start screen, then replugging it.
