The damage sprite problem
Hi,

I desingned an scenario in wich the player has to be prevented of reaching a certain zone by an event. For doing this I created the event and copy&paste it around the zone I don't want the player to reach, so it plays on any spot when the player comes too close. I created "a wall made of instances of the same event", if you will.

During this event, I had planned the actor to be hit and then appear to be damaged. The set move route→change graphic won't work properly because several damage sprites are selected through this option and it never displays the one I want. Change actor graphic on evet tab 3 has the same problem.

I thought that I could work around it if what I did was set a swich when I had to display the graphic, and then do it on a separate event as the event sprite, then let the scene go on.

The problem is, since this event can be triggered on many places and I don't know wich one. If I copypaste the second evente, the swich-triggered one on every single place where the actión could take place, I fear all of the would be triggered all at once.

Is there any way I could just pick the damage sprite I want to be shown?

I've also heard that one solution would be taking the sprite I want and repeating it on a spritesheet and then add that to the database as a custom resource. How could I do that?

Make a Charset with only that damage Position if you have Problems getting it running elseway.

Ok, how can I do a charset? How do I access the RPGM files and, when using them, how do I make them fit into the RPGM selector correctly?

Press F1 for Helpfile, there you find Resource Specifications.
Try and Error use the Export/Import Function of RPG Maker.
That Charset is easily made with Copy and Pasting in any
Grafic Programm that supports PNG Files.
