Characters floating off the ground?
I'm messing around a bit with a sidescroller RPG (i.e. LISA's overworld style) but every character I've created is for some reason floating about 5 pixels off the ground.

My characters are 32x64 so I at first assumed it was because I needed to 'fill the empty space' somehow but even utilizing the entire space as a test the gap between the bottom and the ground is still there.

Again, for reference, the character is meant to be standing on top of the tile from a side perspective.

Do I need to change the tile sprites or the characters sprites, or is there another thing I'm missing?

This is because by default the engine moves the sprite up a few pixels to make them appear to be in the center of the tile. The easiest way to get rid of this is to place a dollar sign ($) infront of the sprite's name in the graphic file that you are using. If you're using a default RTP sprite then you'll have to export it to your desktop, rename it, then reimport it to your project.
$ is for single-character sheets. ! Is for pixel shift.

Thank you very much! I'll try that to see if it works.
