Moving population

Ok so I dont know if Im missing something or what but on the customize race screen theres a skill that leads me to beleave theres a way to move your population from one planet to another to bloister lower pop growth rate planets but for the life of me I cant figure out how to build/unlock any kind of ship to move population. Any help would be great :)

As far as I know you can't move population. I think you can increase the amount of colonists that travel on colony ships but I haven't tinkered with that. To keep your population growing on planets just keep your food production in the positive as and when you can or at the very least always have food stored.

You can move population via transport ships, just select their area of operation (or not, don't have to), and select colonists only. Downside is, the small transports move only small amounts of people. 0.1 per shot I believe? Number increases with larger transports

get a frieghter press "Q" select orders then transport colonists, it will move them from high to low populated worlds.

there are racial traits and technologies that will increase the number of people moved per cargo slot.
