Draugr and Corsair Mutinies: How to stop this?

So, something of a frustration. I'm not sure what the trigger is to have the Corsair and Draugr NPC faction to just suddenly, randomly, take over a ship.

Can anyone shed light on this? Is this mechanic even preventable through player action?

It's not a mutiny, it's a pirate waiting in your trade routes with subspace inhibitor and boarding your transport. Disabling pirate when creating a new game will prevent this.

I understand boarding, but sometimes with military ships. They'll just mutiny and go over to the pirate team.

Troops on ships & killing pirate bases lowers the chances of this.
