So I figured it out. These are the steps you have to take for the building or whatever you edited to work:
-Open in-game editor
-Select the building, or whatever, you want to edit
-Mod the building, or whatever, you want to edit
-Click save
-Select new mod
-Enter new id, title, folder name
-Click save
-In the menu that opens click save next to the building or whatever you just modded
-It'll say your changes have been saved (requires game restart to apply). Click finish
-Exit the game and restart the game
-Go into the mod menu and enable the mods you created and click save. It will exit you out of the game. But it's "normal" I guess/think. Just start the game back up.
-Start your game and enjoy
