Edit: They only transfer the resources to the farm house/logistic center, if there is no "need" for it elsewhere.. I use the resource orders to keep stuff i need for later..
i need to set up a resource order for fish while im producing enough fish by myselve which is needed in the frozen food factory?!? your answere inst true at all. im auto buying everything to feed my animals and almost everything is stored in the owners house (cerials like wheat and so on goes into the silo). i have the storage and barn just across the street from the owners house but they both are almost unused. all animal workers are hauling from the owners house.
its looks like some missing or rather unthought optimisations and / or bad game design decissions from the dev. which is nothing new. its the 3rd farm manager game and we all saw enough braindead things from this dev... that means wait till they fix it with some storage management. in 6 - 12 months or so -.-
unless you set orders in your silo/warehouse/barn, everything gets transported to be sold and aint available anymore for your freezer or smoker etc. Because the workers think they produce to sell, not to process further... its logical to give out an order to your employees saying "we need 5000 carps for the smoker/freezer, the rest will be sold" so your workers know "we have to keep some carp here and the rest is gettting sold"
this sounds pretty logic to me... its like every farmer does... they have some grass fields to get hay for their cattle, but also sell silage produced from it if others are just ranchers.
