What weapon(s) are good?
So i got the game today, had a day off and ended up playing for about 8 hours now, Berserker is level 120 and i have unlocked a lot of diff. weapons, however, not a single weapon seems to be worth using except for the default Machine Gun (just upgrading that one Machine gun).

I have gotten the best result simply using 1 single Machine gun which i keep leveling up, together with 2 Cat passives and 2 Sun Beam passive weapons, my record is about 25 mins on the castle stage and 25 mins on the second stage, but i run into a problem where after about 20 mins the enemies start to have too much HP for me to keep up, so im wondering what more experienced players do to reach success, cause atm im tired of doing 20+ min runs just to get to the same point over and over and dying cause of the lack of damage.

I have not tried Classic mode yet.

I suggest mixing you favorite weapon with other weapons: at least one with burn, another with push/freeze, maybe a Sniper to headshot/instakill more beefed up monsters later on.

Sniper with at least +2 ammo for primary seemed really good, been trying different combos and most weapons seem to be good if you get them to rank 6 for the max ability and dmg increase.

Only tried to use like 3 or 4 weapon sbefore, now i been doing 5-8 and been having good success, finished the 2nd stages timer, but was confused by where i was supposed to go when it said "Go to the baloon" so ended up dying at 34 mins :P
i can only tell that "pewgun" is the worst gun. in my 1h+ run it did almost the lowest damage having a most higher lvl

Kind of a subjective question, so let's talk about the different roles of the weapons...

You want the following weapon types in your loadout and the order in which they become more or less useful changes between the maps.

- knockback/Push
- Pierce/AOE (Crowd Clear)
- High Damage Single Target good range (Boss Killer)
- Slow
- DOT (burn so far, infection if you count secondaries/abilities)

With that in mind, Thunderstruck has a spot in one of my hands every game. It covers knockback, AOE, and Slow, all in one weapon.

Flamethrower has slow and burn, and AOE. Also not a bad choice.

Sniper is simply a solid single target DPS weapon that really benefits from +Ammo and +Damage because if it's low base ammo and high base damage.

Some are preference. I personally like the crucifix boomerang thing. Some people prefer the electric chain.

At higher levels, I really like Statikola in combination with Thunderstruck because the knockback keeps the enemies in the bubble so it explodes.

Some combos are pointless. For example,... Knockback paired with melee weapons. Useless. I never take melee weapons unless I am forced to by random chance.

If I could have two wishes, they would be 360 degree melee weapons to make them useful, and rerolls by spending boss points or maybe purchased with boss points. I have SOO MANY boss points and nothing to spend them on.

Or x rerolls per round, or an unlockable skill to grant rerolls. Just please for the love of all that is unholy in this game, rerolls :)

Back to the point. As long as you cover ALL 5 of those weapon roles, within your first 5 weapons, you should be good. I would also suggest that you level your first, maybe second weapon to 5 or 6 before moving on past that. The levels begin to get watered down a little the more upgrade options you have and you don't want to end up with 10 level 2 guns. You'd probably be better off with 2 level 10 guns to be honest.

Hope that helps someone.
I made it to #41 on the leaderboard in Chateau with only sniper rifles on a scout. I set gamepad aim assist to zero, I ramp one sniper to level 5 as fast as I can, and I only use my scout blood ability on bosses. Yes, it takes a high degree of luck to pull bosses that this strategy will work on, but I've kept trying. I would have been higher on the boards if not for a stupid mistake of going after a treasure chest instead of staying where I was and kiting mobs for a higher score that late in the game.
For Berserker I use rippers -they synergizes extremely well with his skills. Scout is good with sniper rifle or standard rifle.
If you use the constellation that stacks a single primary weapon meaning you only get more of and upgrade the weapon you start with. Unlock the hand catapult and have fun. It's damn near unbeatable. Same with revolvers. Each additional revolver adds 25% damage and once both builds are at a point the offset in reload speed after upgrades just turns them into a machine gun and you'll never stop firing.
You need to max all the permanent upgrades and the character skill tree before the real fun begins. This is essential if you want to get anywhere.

I like to use 10 Soulstormers (with Aquarius constellation) as their damage increases by 50 every upgrade which is more than most other weapons it also has a decent fire rate, collects souls and the projectiles look cool.

Once you have them all upgraded a bit (how much depends on how many score multiplier constellations you have enabled) you can insta-kill bosses no problem.

I have scores in the top 10 on most maps and I always choose to end runs at some point when I've had enough, about 2 hours or so.
