Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is another action RPG that people massively overrate because it is difficult enough to make average players feel accomplished. The entire combat system leans so heavily on deflecting that half the game feels like waiting for an enemy to flash red so you can press one button and pretend you just performed advanced martial arts.

Maybe I am just too skilled to appreciate the challenge. Actually, that is probably exactly what is happening.

The loot system is also obnoxious. The game constantly throws weapons and armor at you with tiny stat differences, so your inventory fills up with garbage while you waste time comparing numbers instead of actually fighting. The Morale system is not much better because it encourages running around collecting flags just so enemies do not gain an unnecessary advantage over you.

The funniest part is how people talk about Lu Bu like he is some legendary test of gaming ability. I watched players farm Morale, change builds, summon help, and search up guides just to beat him. Meanwhile, I learned his timing and moved on with my life.

If you need three YouTube videos and two summons to defeat one boss, you are not an elite gamer.

Wo Long has some genuinely satisfying combat when everything works, but repetition, excessive loot, weak enemy variety, and an overreliance on deflecting make the whole experience wear thin much faster than people admit.

The real final boss is sorting your inventory.

4/10 — NOT RECOMMENDED

Lu Bu is overrated, the loot is annoying, and the playerbase gives itself far too much credit for learning when to press deflect. If this review saved you money, leave me a Steam Award for once again protecting the gaming community from bad taste. Freeloaders may continue scrolling.

Great game! I really enjoy it.
