Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot

Idea: contingencies/auto-pause/auto-retreat
Something that irks me in this (otherwise quite enjoyable) game is that the retreat function is at odds with the game speed settings. Playing at standard speed makes the game way too long and boring, but at higher speeds you run the risk of losing one or multiple dwarves before you can react.

It would be nice to be able to formulate conditions under which the game pauses, or something else happens that can prevent sudden deaths. It could be something in the settings, or something more immersive and lore friendly such as potions or abilities that only trigger under certain circumstances. I wouldn't even be opposed to an optional auto-retreat that triggers when one or more dwarves die in battle.

This game is mostly about planning ahead and I feel that something like this could help with the rather sudden and (imho) unsatisfactory run endings.

I like the idea. It might be a bit challenging though to identify "Important" events though.

There could be an option that resets speed to 1 if an important event happens.
From the top of my head:
- Beer proccs
- Amulet of Warding proccs
- Saved from certain Death
- Death of a dwarf

like the sound of Auto-Retreat, perhaps we could set it to retreat when down to X number of clan members remaining.
