Formations
Formations - Will update as they are added and discovered. The methods listed here are meant to give you the most efficient route to unlock the formation, but any method that meets the requirement will do.

Name: Burning Legion
Requirement: 80% of your dwarves have a chance to burn.
Effect: Increases chance to burn by 10% and burn damage by 50%.
Method: Start a new game. Roll until you get a fire mage staff. Retire your other dwarf. Win the first battle with your solo fire mage.

Name: Banner Lords
Requirement: Have at least 3 Supporters in your clan.
Effect: The ultimate of Supporters will heal all clan members for 20% max HP of the Supporter.
Method: Upgrade the shop to tier 3 to unlock the "Banner of War". Purchase at least 3 of these and equip them on 3 different dwarves, then win a battle.

Name: Pack of Thieves
Requirement: Have at least 3 Thieves in your clan.
Effect: The damage of poison increases by 10% per Thief.
Method: Purchase at least 3 Assassin's Blade and equip them on 3 different dwarves, then win a battle. Your Thieves do not need to have an off-hand weapon for this to count.

Name: Ragtag
Requirement: Have all 7 base professions in your clan.
Effect: Increases main attributes of all clan members by 15%.
Method: Upgrade the shop to tier 3 to unlock the "Bow of Wrath". Check the Formation screen and look for the icons in the center screen that indicate number and type of professions in your clan. You'll need one of: Thief (dagger), Warrior (2H weapon), Mage (offensive staff), Priest (defensive staff), Knight (1H spear or hammer), Archer (bow), Supporter (banner). Win a battle with this group.

Name: Crusade
Requirement: Have only Knights/Paladins and Priests/Warpriests in your clan. A crusade has at least 3 of each.
Effect: The basic attack of Knights/Paladins will additionally deal AoE damage proportional to 8% of weight.
Method: Starting Dwarves are already Knights, so you just need to hire up to 6 total Dwarves and give 3 of them Priest staves, which you can find in the lowest ranked shop. Win a battle with this group of 6 or more. Be sure you don't include any other profession. You may upgrade your Knights and Priests to their advanced classes (Paladins/Warpriests).

Name: Berserkers
Requirement: Have at least 3 Warriors in your clan.
Effect: All Warriors gain 8% parry chance per Warrior. All clan members gain the Berserker passive.
Method: Purchase any combination of Warblade and Battle Axe and equip them to at least 3 Dwarves, then win a battle.

Name: Rangers
Requirement: Have at least 3 Archers in your clan.
Effect: All Archers gain jump back distance from DEX like Thieves.
Method: Upgrade the shop to tier 3 to unlock the "Bow of Wrath". Equip 3 Dwarves with any combination of this item or Bow of the Sun Archer which can be found from some Elite (blue glowing enemy) battles. Win a battle with this group.

Name: Wizardry
Requirement: Have at least 5 Staff (2H) Users in your clan.
Effect: All Staff (2H) Users have a 20% chance to re-activate their Ultimate after use.
Method: Equip 5 Dwarves with any combination of Divine Staff (Priest) and Wizard Staff (Mage), then win a battle.

Bonus Info:
You can activate multiple formations at once and stack the bonuses.

You can forge the starting gear (helm, spear, and shield). You can re-roll these forged items for 0 gold.

Crusade

Have only Knights and Priests in your clan, atleast 3 of each,

Basic attack of Knights will deal additional AoE damage proportional to their weight

Looking forward to watching how this develops - the formations section feels like it has a lot more potential to be fleshed out.

Well this is working better than I expected. On round 61 so far. With the freezing trait I just about keep things stun locked. Went with 5 healers and 5 knights.

Edit: over 100 now. It's too easy...

Crusade almost feels like cheating.. it's so much better than most other things

The game is in need of balance. Crusade is BY FAR the strongest formation and is easy to achieve early game. Combined with freeze and bleed traits you can steamroll through battles until about 130~ when hammer orcs, thunder mages and reapers will eventually kill your backline. At the moment this formation seems to be the only reliable way to progress on death mode, unless there are combinations of advanced units with similar results ( I never used a single advanced class so far, just couldn't be bothered to engange with that tedious system of growth ).

I tried to crusader but I never got anything for my knights. I wasted all my money on rerolls. I only got success with 1 of every class and lots of thieves. I know it's an autobattler but this current progression feels like bashing my head against a wall until I can continue. Granted I don't really know how you get gems other than achievements.

Yeah crusade is busted, just made it to 173 with this line up https://i.gyazo.com/7eb76919e4f191316bb41c3147dca6fd.png

The next best I've found is pairing thieves with banners, but it's not even close. Maybe now that I have more gems perhaps thieves, banners and palandin/warpriest/reaper might compare, but that's a lot of overhead just to catch up with something you can do from the start

I agree that the formation for crusade is better then upgraded units with dual stat buffs and equipment. There is no reason to upgrade units and break the crusade formation to upgrade knights or priests to other units. You spend too long getting units to growth requirements that the break from formation isn't worth it. I think the game needs a max unit formations with obvious paths for dual stat units like warpriests etc, If crusade has upgrade paths the crusade formation should move from crusade to *upgraded* crusade formation for 3 warpriests and 3 *whatever knights dual upgrade to* which is a bonus for hording all upgraded equip items till you have 6 and then do a straight swap, Also the upgraded units should take the extras as knights and priests to keep the formation without needing to hoarde 10 upgraded items from the store.
You could also make the crusade formation 6 units only formation without the requirement to only stock with extra priests or knights after 6 but the AoE weight only counts formation units or weight from Knights to make it less OP. I don't know if that works at all. But at the moment if you stock all weight over all the units and crusade formation its basically way OP.

Updated with the changes from the current patch.
What does the "jump back" ability from DEX do? I don't think I've ever noticed that, in-game.
