The real high level trick to making this the most effective type of assault in the game is the fact that this can be done from the brigade commander EVEN THOUGH THE UNITS ARE TC'D.
In other words, even with all his subordinate battalions under TC, certain functions of the brigade commander still function for the brigade as a whole, and charge is the most important of these functions(double quick, advance and retreat while engaged, along with some others also work to)
This quirk of the interface makes it possible to initiate quick and overwhelming brigade level assaults directly under your control, making it the most powerful form of assault in the game.
It takes some practice to get good at executing. But once you do,your assaults basically become unstoppable, I mean unless you do something dumb like hurl a brigade at a whole division, but if you do that, well, your asking to handled roughly.
Also you won't find any of this stuff in the manual. All of the best strategies and tactics for this game were developed by me years ago, and I never wrote a manual for it. I put it all up on YouTube instead.

Thanks for your videos.
If I understand you (never played these games before) you would recommend waiting until the Grog Toolbar is fixed and then start learning and playing the game with it right away without bothering with the "standard" version?
For me personally, I just can't go back to that. I've used the Grog toolbar for 9 years. I learned on it, I developed all my strats and tactics on it, I'm used to it, and I'm stuck in my ways.
That doesn't mean you can't start playing right now with it and have a good experience. Itl just be better once Randy deploys the fix so you can use all of the grog toolbars features. With the stock game, you're only seeing about half of what it can do. It's the best toolbar ever made for this game, and I just can't go back to using something inferior, when it's likely il only have to wait a few days to get the real deal.
