Stuck on Round 3 of Barbas Fight

I know that I have to punch the 3 eryx crystals on the floor quickly, but I can't seem to get Dante to them quickly enough without being cut by the pesky lasers. And once I get to a third crystal, another one lights up, making it like 5 crystals in a row. Gets pretty tiring for my hands on the keyboard. And he have died like nearly 20 times in this mission.

So, my question is:

Does controller make Dante go faster than if play on a keyboard?

What lasers in particular are you having problems with? The green ones the go around the floor? Just double jump those or do a short glide to evade them.

If it's the laser grid that radiates out from his head, dont get hit by the green colored lasers, instead go to the blue colored squares in the grid. those don't deal any damage.

once he is vulnerable, it helps to use devil trigger to dish out a lot of damage.

lastly, yes, playing with a controller is way easier than using the keyboard.

I figured out that jumping over the white ones that goes around, but it seems as he won't stay in the air very long, even with the angel glide. The other one with the empty square thats in a circular motion, easy for me. Only if there's a way to disable that type of lasers...(Wishful thinking.)

My problem is, as I run and glide to get the 3rd eryx, another eryx crystal appears. Making me do 5 or more in a row and get him killed. I need to get the 3 eryx crystals punched to make him vulnerable and use my favorite thing in DMC, which is the devil trigger plus my favorite, abriter in this round (3).

Use his Fly ability, don´t know how it´s called, with it you will get from one crystal to another before barbas can attack you.
I think Bob is the easiest boss in the game but also the best.

Yep, already doing the angel glide. I feel as it's too slow with the keyboard, so might have to get a controller..

And we can disagree about Barbas difficulty level. However, I LOVE LOVE the news introduction and the rants in between rounds with Barbas commentary. That's awesome. And it's a perfect reason why to button smash f10 for tons of pictures from the game.

I just don't like round 3 of Barbas fight. That's all. And I want to get past it so I can actually finish the game. And take tons of pictures in between.

I still don't quite understand what mechanic you are having trouble with. As with most of DMC you are probably missing something very simple. None of his mechanics should hinder your movement between the red circles. If it helps run closer to him as it makes the circle your running shorter and it makes most of the stuff he does easier to dodge.

Can do a short video or take tons of screenshots of my problems with the white lasers and getting to the 3 eryx quickly. When not busy with Vergil and the imprisoner demon.

Yea, I haven't gone back to figure it out yet. And been playing Vergil's downfall lately.

You really do not need a controller, i play with mouse and keyboard aswell and never had that problem.
Either your game is buggy or your just too slow...just try to never get hit, bob is the most easiest boss ingame to not get hit by (well succubus also) in my opinion. Just practice until you're able to avoid every attack of him easily.

Succubus is definitely easy, but again, I have a habit of going back through old missions to improve myself. Not now due to Barbas and my need to defeat him for once and all. Then repeat the same thing for my sister who asked me to defeat him in her save.

Last night, I got about halfway off Barbas' life in round 3 before I got caught in the huge white laser and died. But it's an improvement. I'm sure within a few more playtime, probably about 10-20 more deaths before I defeat Barbas for once and all, since I'm on the last round.

Will have to figure out how to post videos of my attempts at Barbas battle..

The funny thing is, I found Vergil's Downfall a bit easier than Barbas fight.

Will have to try to upload the video of my failing at Barbas battle on Monday during my 3 hrs break between classes. No internet where I live.

Reason: someone suggested I post a video or two showing how I'm having a hard time with the lasers in round 3 battle with Barbas.

If that's the only battle that involves lasers, I'll be happy.

Parrying his lasers attacks should give you abundant time to get to the floor switches. Quite handy for the third stage where you need to shut down all 3 floor switches since they reset quite fast.

Yay! There's a method to defeat Barbas' lasers. Will check the video out tomorrow and try it in my game.

Lets hope it helps me defeat him, since I'm still stuck on round 3, and 20 and counting deaths so far.

I have a bit of an off topic question. What's that demon with the ball in the stomach and have no head and it throws the spinning saw thing. I'm stuck on that one in Vergil's Downfall SOS mission 2.

It's called Butcher, quite easy to defeat when he is alone. You need to know his attack patterns to avoid them successfully. Keep your distance away so he only use his 3 ranged attacks. You can know which attack he's gonna use by paying attention on his hand movements before throwing projectiles. You can simply avoid the ranged attack and go to his yellow stomach and hit it with heavy attacks, such as Demon Yamato (Divorce). You can also parry his ranged attacks if you want to take some risk. Once he recovered his spinning saws go back and repeat :D

I figured out I have to attack the stomach ball. Good thing is, when I manage to defeat Butcher, it will be easy for me to do so when I encounter it in DMC.

I defeated Barbas!!!!!!! And died 37 times to able to defeat him. Thankful for the last minute devil trigger to deliver the final blows and the fact I learned to parry the pesky lasers.
