My Honest Opinion: A Brief DmC Review. *POTENTIAL SPOILERS*
Let me start off by saying I have played and beaten all of the previous DMC games and loved them all. This game is more than worthy to have the title of DmC and have Dante as the protagonist. Im going to give you a list of pros and cons based on my experience with the game.

Pros:
1. Story;
The story in this game is fantastic, there is a good plot here with a few nice twists. This is the one thing I will keep spoiler free.

2. Attention to detail;
When in limbo, the way the world deforms itself right before your eyes never gets old. There are also parts of the game where interesting details are applied, such as in the vault level where as you go through the level, it changes to a chalkboard like fashion as though going over the plan on a chalkboard. Little things like this are always happening and it keeps the game interesting.

3. Graphics;
I'm not one to think graphics make a game, this game would be good even if it looked like crap, but it looks really good, play on max if you can.

4. Characters;
The new Dante is still Dante. He makes the jokes, he makes the poses, and he kicks ♥♥♥ just like old Dante. You'll get to know the other characters backstories and you will soon find yourself getting immersed in the story as a result of the well developed characters.

5. The Boss Fights;
Oh my god. The bossfights in this game are amazing and theres tons of variety between them. Personally my favorite bossfights are the succubus, and the child.

6. Soundtrack;
The guys at Ninja Theory know thier music, it always kicks in at the perfect time. The strange tone of the music, which I am going to compare to NIN, fits the world of Limbo.

Theres a brief listing of the things that appealed to me about the game. No game is perfect, so here are some of the problems I had with the game.

Cons:
1. Enemy Variety;
I know that red, blue, green, and purple clothed puppets are not exactly a great variety of enemies but I find that most of the enemies in this game are simply just forgettable. I wish the same detail that went to the bosses went to the normal enemies.

2. Length;
I beat the game in roughly six hours, I was not rushing but I was not taking my time to look for everything either. This is not a huge deal however, because after you beat it, you have 4 more difficulty modes to play it on, and bloody palace will be added (for free!) at a later date.

3. Rebooting the series;
Naturally, as I played the game I tried to put peices of the story into what we know as the DMC timeline, but due to the fact this game is not a remake but a reboot of the whole series, my mind gets numb when I try to figure out how this game and the 1st DMC connect, the problem is they are not supposed to, but I can't help it!!

4. D L C.
Why? In DMC 2 did you have to pay and download something to unlock Trish? No. In DMC 3 did you have to do the same to play as Virgil? No. Then why, please tell me why, do I have to pay (Assuming that they arent going to be giving it out for free as it was a pre order bonus.) and download to play as Virgil? One of the exciting things about DMC is that you always know when you beat it on the harder difficulties, you are always rewarded with a new character, a fancy new weapon, etc... but in this game, you get some crappy concept art or a trophy, or some other lame extra that nobody cares about. The Virgil DLC makes me feel as though they just took something that should simply have been a reward for beating the game on Dante Must Die mode, and are making us pay for it.

There you have it, a brief review on my experience with DmC. I think its definately worth the cash and wont let you down. 9/10

TL;DR
Good story, interesting characters, and interesting levels.
Bad enemy variety, little bit shorter than previous DMC's, and DLC.
