Having trouble doing Rainstorm/Inverse
Im using a gamepad to play and find it impossible to pull off the rainstorm moves without multiple attempts where I have to remove my hand from the normal grip in an effort to perfom the move. Now out of curiosity I tried the keyboard, and while it was easier, it was still a chore. Is there some secrect or something Im am not doing. Combo is A+Y on ground or air. Its quite akward to even try...

Strange that it's A+Y for you, it is A+X by default. Have you switched your ranged button to Y? If not, try rebinding it that way, as that is the default and makes Rainstorm easy to pull off.

But then again at this point...Im so used to X as melee...

Y or Triangle was used for melee in ALL of the DMC games. Using the default X/Square for your guns makes doing (inverse) Rainstorm a lot easier.

I knew it was the default having played them all, but in every game I switched the two. It was already switched when I started playing...
Its like they knew

GreatZamboni....i'm right there with you mate!

First thing I did was switch my melee to 'X', although that was purely because i've never played a DmC game before and it feel awfully wrong.

I've basically resigned myself to not being able to rainstorm at all. Switching back to default controllers isn't worth the irritation of mashing the wrong button all the time.... :)

For those still looking for a solution, I found one: limit your framerate. With a GTX970 at ultra, I don't know what my fps was, but I could never get inverse rainstorm. Capped fps at 45 with nVidia Inspector, always get it. I guess you just have to press both keys in the same frame.

Based on your answer i found an even better solution. Turn on Vsinc! After that i can finally hit every rainstorm :D
