It happens to me when I have the controller plugged in.

If I don't connect the controller it loads correctly.

Then as soon as I plug it in it crashes.

Very disappointing.

I've the same problem. Nothing people suggested on this board help. I've disabled all controllers, reinstalled the .net and c++ files, even updated my GPU drivers.

Okay, so I had this problem and it was caused by using a controller. If you are trying to use a PS3 controller, make sure you're using a program like MotioninJoy first (and that it's enabled), and it works fine. This fixed the issue. Other than that, try using a different type of controller outside of a PS3 controller if that's what you're using. (I only have experience with using the PS3 controller, and this is what worked for me). Or, just try using Motioninjoy in general. Hope that helps, if not - I'm sorry and wish you the best of luck.

It does suck that this is an error that will hopefully be patched so that people don't have to find a 'way around it' - but since I already had the motioninjoy program, it wasn't a big hassle to me to use it. :3

Good luck!

I'm using MotionJoy and the game crashes the moment I connect my PS3 controller to my computer

Make sure to close the game first, open up MotioninJoy, go to Driver Manager, install/load the driver, then go back to "Profiles" and enable the controller. I have mine set to Xinput-default (360 controller emulator) even though it's a PS3 controller. After all of this is done and the controller is enabled, try running the game again. This is what fixed it for me.

I'm not sure if you kept the game open or not, but if so - just make sure to follow these steps and (hopefully) it'll help. I'm really sorry if what worked for me does not work for you, though.
