Does buying Virgil's Downfall allow you to play as him in the main story as well?

From what I've heard Dante and Virgil control a bit differently. So im wondering if I would be able to use Virgil in Dantes Campaign to make it a different experience somewhat.

Just his own campaign, which is fairly good.

I also can recommend the dlc campaign. I just finished Vergil on HAH, it took me about eleven hours. I have a lot of fun from this dlc. Also i heard a lot about how the fifth level is pretty hard on HAH etc. But it turns out that - well, not really. Now i can back to Dante :).

Well thats a tad disappointing. I was really hoping you could considering how underwhelming this game is when it comes to character skins. DMC3 just had so many that I figured maybe they'd give us a few more then one for completing the game, One for beating the game again, and then 3 in a DLC pack. Can Virgil at least be used in Bloody Palace mode?

No :(. Vergil dlc is completely separated from the main game ( with Dante ). And you're right. It's a shame because they could make a lot more content - like new arenas ( both, for Dante and for Vergil ), lots of weapon skins, character skins and many other "fun factor" things. Even the training room is a bit "poor". Well, still the game itself is great.

Doesnt sound like its worth the 10 dollars if you cant even use Virgil in bloody palace mode :/

You can, I worked on a mod a while back that let you use him in BP, minus boss fights, and some sounds, but everything elsew as functional its just a bit tricky to get working initially, but no timpossible if you're really interested.
