what happen to kat ? where is she?

as i keep playing DmC and repeat the story many times i still believe kat is alive
idk if this spoiler or not but i am not sure
i mean when Dante and Vergil defeat mandus Vergil say he want to rule the world after mandus and Dante fight Vergil so it after that it seems kat is doing just find she didnt die or something
yes i have dlc of Vergil story after he defeated by dante i play it speedrun to see what is interesting in the dlc i do like it but i was skipping every cut scene so now while i am playing i was wonder what happen to kat where is she
she was huge help for Dante in this game
anyway i read this in google the only thing i have seen i search about it nothing more info about kat this what i read
( As Vergil takes his leaves, Dante tells Kat to kneel down with her hands up and don't fight back. He tells her to hold on and promises her that he'll be back for her. As SWAT finally breaks through, Kat is shot in her left shoulder and brutally beaten by two officers )
