Edit: I mean... look at the Dark Souls games and alike. Like The Surge.
Incredible deep engaging fighting.... totally without any kind of combo, moves or strings.
Anyway Dark Souls has cancelled rolls, deadangles, you can play DMC with just the basic weapon attacks if you want
But I think Darksiders would be more your speed, at least 1 and 2
You mentioned DS - yesss, great series, almost no combos to remember, tech-based pve and pve. Stick to that if you like it more.
Hold down E to change to demon weapon for as long as you hold it down, or tap 2, and it'll stay in demon form
If controller, d-pad to change weapons
