The hate never made sense to me, beyond many of the fans hating western games.

It is all about perspective but instead fans became even more ignorant by keeping a narrow view of what the reboot was meant to be, it was going to be more story focused. I honestly never got cringe, I saw this as arrogant young dante obviously anyone with half a brain cell can understand they where going for character development if it did well into the sequels and danta did change some towards the end. He is part ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ demon, he has to kill demons in order to survive of course he will be messing around doing what he wants to an extent, his childhood is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up if half of fans could sit down and actually think about why they would show these things.

This is more of an action adventure game now then the older dmcs that was the purpose, I found the platforming way more varied and interesting then the others. And I have never seen more disrespectful fans then dmc fans or possibly shills my entire life of gaming beyond mmorpgs over the years, and I mean disrespectful to every post that claims anyone loved the reboot.

Who cares about replay we are working parents now and do not feel like mastering to many combos while adventuring, if I wanted to do that I could just play a fighting game. So not everyone needs a bunch of depth, I feel like the reboot is more varied anyways because of the flexible weapons system. But I also understand the pros of the other dmcs combat systems.

The story was far more interesting in this dmc then the others and I cannot stand 4 at all for many reasons. And perhaps to close to home for some.

Its odd how many claim they know what makes a good story but cannot fill in the obvious things that a story shouldn't waste time explaining to you.

In the era 1980s-2000s games & movies make real sequel, the definition stick the same, until 2010s era beginning new concept on production. Company might hire new designer to develop new idea to make their game stay fresh. That's what I learn in my understanding. I might be wrong.

There are all kind of people we have to meet in our life, some group of people love us, some group of people hate us, both of the parties exist. Same goes into gaming product, the matter stay on what are we focusing into it. Need not to worry much, it happen to many other games & movie too.

For me, DMC Devil May cry is the Second best dmc game and I feel that many reasons why people hate it, are ridiculous. First, I think that hating this game because of the story is weird, for in the other dmc games the story is also dull. The Combat system is ok and the best thing in it is that Weapons have different purposes, with demon weapons you can break Shields and pull enemies to you whereas with angel weapons you can attack a vast number of enemies at once.Like you said , I do not Understand this hate either. Okay perhaps the reboot has some faults, nevertheless dante's hair is not one of them. It might be controversial, but in my opinion the DMC reboot and Devil May cry 5 are the only finished dmc games in which you are not made to fight the same bosses and revisit almost identical locations. I like dmc 5 more for the Combat system is a little bit better, there Are more enemies to fight with and the game itself is more challenging, nonetheless dmc 5 would be a better game if some things from DmC Devil May cry had made it into the game. The last thing I want to mention is that people should not detest a game for it is different from the others, it is fine if people may not like it, because not everything is perfect,hovewer the haters should look at it from a different perspective and start to think if the other dmc games they do like have some faults which the reboot Might have done better.

In my opinion it made combat way better being able to pull myself into Ariel combat constantly like this game does, I never got the rude comments they are evil who gives a crap that they do not get well deserved rudeness lol!!! I think that's the main reason we got a bunch of weird demon sympathetic people towards narcissism yep it makes sense with my op.

It was the game that taught to me to never listen neither to player communities, nor to journalists.
As one content maker said, they never gave a t about NT's new and unique vision, the potential it had, they weren't even going to play it, they just needed Dante to be white-haired.
I see people whining about the difficulty being too low and the combat system being too simplified, yet they never attach any combo mad video or at least DMD completion screen, lol. At best, they've completed original version on Normal/on YouTube, not speaking of Definitive Edition with Turbo+Hardcore modifiers on GMD.
Moreover, none of these hypocritical "DMC advanced combo connossieurs" ever mention the degradation of DMC5's battle mechanics and the removal of some advanced techniques such as guard fly/reversals/DT uppercut dmg multiplier, guess they never knew about them in the first place.

I generally see potential for both series to continue side by side to be honest. I love the lore and gameplay of the original series, but I also like what the reboot brings to the table. I don't see any reason why it should be outright discontinued, just marketed as its own thing.

It's pretty simple, people thought we'd never see the old Dante again if this game turned out to be a success. Honestly they don't even need to do that. Just do more to market it as it's own thing, a parallel universe or something with a different title. Sure, the story is worse, but it's not like most of us are playing DMC for the story anyway. We're here for that combo game.

Alternatively they could just take this Dante moveset and give it to Nero in future games. He's basically a combination of both characters leaning more towards Nero anyway, so it would fit pretty well. The automatic targeting would also help him stand out from Dante and Vergil more in the main series.

Ninja Theory was antagonistic to pre-existing DMC fans from the announcement.

Ninja Theory's director of photography posted a photo of DMC4 Dante photoshopped (poorly) into a still of Brokeback Mountain and on top of that LITERALLY called him a "f*****t", said he's "get laughed out of any bar in Japan, were inconsistent over whether DmC: Devil May Cry was a prequel, an alternate continuity timeline, a remake or a reboot (Game Informer likewise was inconsistent in labeling said category with their reporting up to release).

Attacked those of us upset about DMC4 seemingly never being followed up on at the time to explain why Nero had his Devil Bringer, reduced our hatred for Tameem Antoinades/Ninja Theory and their attacks on the OG Dante and US by reducing our concerns to "being upset that Dante doesn't have white hair", with DmC!Dante being clearly modeled after Tameen's physical appearance while he denigrated the OG design with a bunch of homophobic slurs, but then deleted a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of his social media accounts and posts (like the internet tough guy/edgy little ♥♥♥♥♥ he is) after the game failed to live up to sales expectations after Capcom had to revise sales expectations at least TWICE before it it reached said revised sales estimate.

Combat system is trash, level design is crap, the characters and bosses are forgettable, they threw in swearing for the sake of doing it, the story is just a bad copy of the movie They Live, the game is overly edgy for no reason, the entire marketing for the game was "haha the other games are stupid" and though he worded it a bit weird Vergil was right at the end.
